Artists house

The pool was a real bonus, especially when travelling with a small child.

We only spent 3 nights at the artists house but we felt like being at home. Wonderful owners, beautiful house. Highly recommended for everyone!

It was easy to find and located 5 minutes’ walk from the beach. It’s within half-an-hour’s drive of the world heritage site, Le Morne, and there is an endless list of great things to do in and around Riviere Noire. Artist’s House is a beautiful home with a swimming pool and a very friendly dog, Fluffy. The Hardy’s are a warm & welcoming family keen to open up their home to their guests. One night Stephane, a very capable chef, made a lovely Mauritian dinner and invited some of the guests - it was a special treat, not something to be expected or taken for granted. My last night at Artist’s House, I went out to dinner with the hosts at a local restaurant and enjoyed the company. Diane is a talented & accomplished theatre producer and drama teacher trailblazing English theatre in Mauritius. As a solo traveler, I really enjoy meeting new people and staying at Artist’s House is a great way to get to know the amazing hosts and some of the other guests who pass through.

Honestly, I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like. I shared this with the hosts already, but a bigger dustbin in the room for a longer stay would be good.

Great hosts, very clean, walkable to the beach. Would recommend a stay here. Big terrasse. A shopping center in walkable distance too.

The location was a bit unclear for us at the start I wish the whole address would be displayed here on booking.com. The pool could be cleaner it was quite greenish. The bathroom should have a shower curtain as you wet the whole room showering.

Great location! Near to supermarket, beaches, bar and restaurants, pretty much everything you need. Stephane and Diane are very friendly and super helpful to help us arrange anything we could ask for. Highly recommended!

I loved everything about this place: close to the beach, close to the supermarket, bus station is in 3 min walk. Hosts was extremely helpful and friendly, property was looking even better that it looks at the pictures. Very clean villa, I felt like I was staying in a classy boutique hotel. My terrace was the best. Just amazing, I would recommend this place to everyone!

Nice big room with terrace and private bathroom with window. Sharing facilities in the house like kitchen, pool, and living room, and people to deal with if you want. Cute Fluffy dog 💕 and very welcoming owners. Good emplacement for visiting the South and West (car necessary). A few shops and restaurants at walking distance.

Bed was a little hard for us, maybe it's a matter of habit.

It was nice, cozy, homely and super clean.
