"Family by the lake"

From the beginning, Franz and Jojor, the owners of Hotel Barbara were so friendly and helpful we felt right at home. We could relax and swim in the lake, paddle board, kayak, rent scooters, or get a wonderful massage by the shore with the gentle breeze coming off the lake. The food was great and the prices were great too! Paradise!

You need a scooter to go into town.

"Superb"

We had a wonderful time, staying here over the christmas time. The food was awsome and we could easily hire a motorbike for cheap money to explore the island. Especially the owners and the other staff were super friedly and gave us tips were to go and to visit and always helped us with information and transport to and from ferry. If you're searching for a affordable and familiar homestay, just go there! Thank you for everything!

"Very good"

Very helpfull hosts and staff, nice place with great food (lots of veggies). Great hot shower, comfortable beds. The owner picked us up from the harbour, helped us with getting away tot Singkil and gave tips for hiking en cycling. We could use the canoe, sup and bicycles. We stayed some extra days. When we were there the restaurant was being renovated. But the staff and hosts made sure we got great meals served at the lakeside or at our balcony. Dutch/Indonesian owners, they speak very good English, Dutch and Indonesian (and probably more languages), so very easy to communicate.

Some stuff from renovation was in the garden, so the place will me even better when the restaurant is ready.
