Tekanda Lodge

We had an amazing stay at Tekanda Lodge. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the property is truly wonderful. The location is peaceful and privat, still only a few minutes to the beach and restaurants with a tuk tuk. The food was amazing and we enjoyed the community dinner in the evening. Highly recommended if you vist Ahangama.

We can't recommend the place enough. The location is ideal, the place is quiet, the view is stunning, and the food was truly delicious. Our room was very spacious, beautifully designed, with thoughtful details that made our stay extra special. Charlie and Richard, as well as the entire staff, have an incredible energy and are super kind. They showed us the surf spots and recommended various activities. We loved everything about it and want definitely to come back!

The property is located just a short tuk tuk ride from the beach and a lovely beach town. It’s beautifully decorated, fantastic facilities, amazing food and pure relaxation. The staff at Tekanda are excellent. They are more than happy to assist with anything you need and can help arrange activities and excursions. I honestly could not recommend this property enough.

Tekanda Lodge is a real gem in the Jungle. Amazing hosts and staff look after you and make you feel relaxed and chilled. Views of the jungle and the wildlife we saw from our verandah was entertainment itself. Fabulous food which is also great value for the quality. Great recommendations of trips which were personalized for us. Charlie, Richard and team have made a luxury hideaway home from home. We will definitely be back.

Booked this place for a little getaway with my husband. From the moment you pass through the gates and start driving up the hill, the views are breathtaking, and you instantly feel a sense of relaxation, far from the busy. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious! I especially loved the Sri Lankan egg hoppers for breakfast, definitely a must-try! The location is close enough to Kabalana Beach and Ahangama, but we enjoyed just swimming and chilling by the pool with its stunning views 🌴🙌🏻 We can't recommend this place enough! Our only regret is that we booked just one night. Next time, we'll stay longer!

Secluded location atop a hill. The staff, led by the excellent Upul, were attentive and helpful but never annoying. The property is clean and airy and beautifully built and the gardens are wonderful with a lovely little pool to cool off in. I only had dinner and breakfast but both were delicious and made with local produce.

Staying at Tekanda Lodge was the most magical part of my trip to the south coast of Sri Lanka and is one of those experiences that is truly unforgettable. Nestled atop a hill with breathtaking views of nature and wildlife, it was the perfect location as it was close to Ahangama and the bustling Unawatuna, while being tucked away in a quiet and private property. They have a trusted network of tuk tuk and private drivers to help get you where you would like to be and I found this service incredibly helpful and convenient. The food was outstanding and their menu had a range of authentic Sri Lankan dishes made to order. I loved that there was the option of dining with other guests or dining privately. I only wish I could have stayed longer so I could have tried more menu items. The entirety of Tekanda Lodge had the most calming atmosphere and the detail and thought put into the decor and interiors is wonderful. The room was exquisite and incredibly comfortable, with high quality amenities included. I was also impressed with how many different areas were around the property to sit and relax, or even do yoga. I loved the pool and could have spent many more hours lounging and reading a book. The staff were all lovely, welcoming and extremely attentive to my needs. I have no hesitation in saying this is the best boutique hotel I have stayed at in my life and I cannot wait to return in the future.

The most beautiful place with the most hospitable hosts! Richard & Charlie have created a stunning lodge with breathtaking panoramic views. I could just sit and listen to the sound of the birds all day long.. Surrounded by jungle, yet just a few minutes by tuktuk from Kabalana beach.
