Kurumba Lodge

A bit of a homestay style, remote in the ricefields. You can hear the elephants at night. Peacefull., They will help you to organise your safaris. Nice family, lovely, very good food. The accommodations are clean and new, balcony very pleasant. Just 3km from the park.

A bit remote but everything is remote if you wanna stay closeby the park. We are here for nature, after all! Hot water would be welcome but I believe it's planned for soon.

Super friendly family looked after us with delicious food and nice clean space to stay. Location was great and they even helped book us transport to our next leg of the journey. Would recommend

Beautiful views from the bungalow.

The hosts were pleasant enough, though not very prompt. We had to ask for water multiple times without much result. It could have been a language barrier, though. Meals on the expensive side for what you get and there isn't much choice of restaurants in the area. There was also a misunderstanding about our safari tour. The hosts weren't very helpful when we asked about transportation. They didn't know the local bus times and wanted to charge us double for a tuk tuk. Luckily, one of the guests staying next door was kind enough to help us and called the bus station. At the end of the stay we were charged a "service charge" even though it's a homestay and we didn't experience that anywhere else during our three-month stay in Sri Lanka.

Famille très accueillante, un verra d’eau de coco nous a été servi à notre arrivée. Repas très bon et dans un joli cadre ( face à la rizière). Chambre confortable et propre. Parfait pour notre séjour (1 nuit) avant le safari de Wilpattu.

The family is super kind, they were always willing to help me. The room is spacious and has a beautiful view. The terrace is very enjoyable. You can walk around through the village and you will find a lot of fruit trees and friendly people.

A great, cheap place to stay near Wilpattu. It was a little more basic than thought given previous reviews, but we still had a great stay. Food was nice and the owners were lovely. Amazing views right off the front step, and there were some elephant tracks in the morning, which meant they'd come right past the lodge overnight!

After two nights there were a fair amount of ants in the bathroom, and the bathroom felt a bit dirty. Quite a small room, but comfy bed and fly net were good.
