This hotel is an oasis of calm, friendliness, peace, and beauty. The host and hostess greeted us warmly, were great and responsive communicators, and our room was large, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was prepared to order each morning, on time, and was plentiful to begin a day on the island. The evenings were peaceful, the pool was clean and cool. There were lounge chairs outside to relax in, and plenty of space to take it easy.

In general, Holbox is an island that is in need of better infrastructure development. However, once on the beautiful, gorgeous, unique beach, it doesn't matter much. We stayed mostly on the beach side, and found ourselves a couple of great restaurants nearby that did not require much walking through the inner parts of town. I would recommend Atenea for its calm away from the central town.

The hosts were awesome, couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great time. Organised taxis/excursions/meals with ease. The property is beautiful and quiet, rooms are airy and spacious and a 2min walk from beautiful beach. The walk to town is 20-25minutes. We enjoyed it and didn't use any taxis bar our trips to offload luggage. It's a nice stroll and in the day can be done along the beach, later in the day by foot as the tide comes in.

The hosts Mia & José were really welcoming and engaged to make our stay on the island Holbox the best. They had plenty of honest and great recommendations, not trying to convince us to do anything or making impossible promises but realistic and according to our wishes. It's like being in paradise. The room with sea view and the hotel with it's pool, rooftop and breakfast-option are beautiful. It has a calm surrounding and is just a minute walk to the beach. It's a bit off the beaten path, which was perfect for us, we prefered to have the empty white beach for us anyways and didn't mind the walks to get to the restaurants and shops. The center of Holbox seemed rather noisy and hectic.

5 stars all around! Jose and Mia are exceptional hosts—attentive, welcoming, and genuinely care about ensuring your satisfaction. As an architect, I appreciated the spacious rooms and the attention to detail in design and compliance. The hotel is just 2 minutes from the beach and close to the bioluminescent bay. We also enjoyed getting to know Jose and Mia better—they’re fascinating people. I highly recommend Atenea and thank them for their amazing hospitality!

It was quaint. The decor was natural, felt like home. Excellent access to ocean and food but remote also. The hosts were perfect!! So friendly and willing to be a help. LOVED IT HERE!!!

The hotel is very nicely furnished. The owners are super nice and supportive, speaks really good English. The hotel is not in the center, but you can reach the center within 30 minutes walk, although there are restaurants close to the hotel, so you don’t even need to go to the center. The beach, which is 100m from the hotel is very calm and the sea is beautiful.

The hotel is not too big and because of that it was much more easy to meet other guests. The rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated. The daily breakfast was great as well. The hotel is located a bit far from the center but you can easily take a taxi. The hosts are so kind, helpful and welcoming. They always make sure you have everything you need! I would definitely come again!
