"Beautiful ryokan with impeccable service and amazing food"

We had the most amazing time at Tokiwa Bekkan. Large Japanese style rooms with a beautiful view into the gardens. The food was out of this world, the service was impeccable. We felt very welcome. Manaha took wonderful care of us and even wrote the menu by hand, translated for us into English. 🙂

Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Onsen was really great and the room was comfortable. I really enjoyed the garden view from the room. Staff members were incredible and I hope to come back again.

"A charming and traditional ryokan in a beautiful town"

This was my first time staying at a proper ryokan. The staff was extremely courteous and welcoming, offering to drive me to my destination every time I left. The ryokan was charming with its winding corridors and garden views. The onsen was small but appeared to be recently renovated. Free onsen pass to the public baths in the town was included in the price. Overall, the ryokan experience was worth it. My only regret is not having had a dinner there.

The age of the building showed in some places. The location was a bit further from the very center of town (but still within easily walkable distance).

Loved the wonderful staff, they were so attentive and friendly. The bar was a nice place to relax and I appreciated the complementary drink after an evening out. The shuttle bus service to the station and luggage storage were really useful. Garden was beautiful

The rooms could do with a little updating, some of the decor and soft furnishings were a bit tired looking.

"Beautiful traditional ryokan"

The room was beautiful and so spacious.

It was a bit far from most onsen and restaurants. Also in one occasion staff opened our room door without knocking, not on dinner or room set up time, which made us feel a little weary of them doing it again through the night.
