The location and quirkiness of the property made it a great place to stay. The fireplace was excellent.

Many of the appliances and fixtures and fittings were old and run down. There were sufficient dining chairs and some crockery to accommodate the number of people staying. For example the out door chairs were quite tatty and covered in bird poo.

Beautiful old cottage type house close to lake tekapo. Kids & family loved the place. Farm animals, rabbits, lush green space outside and backdrop of mountain .. fabulous facility & excellent host.

Probably providing a vaccum cleaner would have helped tidy up the place while vacating.

Front gate lock was bent/broken. The front door unlocked when we arrived but wouldn't ever lock with the key so we had to lock the door from the knob that was loose/sloppy and then go out the back door and lock it with the skeleton key.

close to Lake Tekapo within 15 mins by drive from property. Nice little farm/lifestyle with natural surround.

Facilities were a bit old/ages and need better maintenance/care. The house may also needs good dehumidification and cleaning because there's a damp smell over the base floor and rooms.

The location

The space was peaceful, needs to be updated phone number contact inside the lodge so there is some sort of contact, The padlock was rusty we struggled to open the clock.

Magical atmosphere. Cheese and wine by the little river looking at the snow capped mountains. The cottage is straight out of a fairytale. Exactly what I was hoping for while traveling with kids through the South Island.

As was communicated by the other reviews the oven and stovetop were too covered in old food to be usable so best to eat dinner out somewhere. But even without an oven we loved this cottage and would be back.
