Bandara Villa Nuwaraeliya

What an amazing service . So far we had not have received such a great hospitality from other places where we were in Sri Lanka. We arrived in Nanuoya from Kandy. Tuk Tuk drivers around the station were absolutely pushy to grab us to the place in different prices. However, we called the Appleton they organized a Tuk Tuk in fair price. No headache at all. They have provided fresh towels and bathroom amenities . As I got to know those shampoos and body lotion are the same supplier who supply the goods to Colombo well known 5 star hotels. Once we arrived the Appleton Villa we relaxed and had a great sleep in most comfortable bed I had in Sri Lanka. They are not spin mattress. The Dinner prepared for us upon our request really tasty . The following day after breakfast we leaved to Ella . We took Tuk Tuk to Nuwareliya town which is around 20minutes and see around a bit and went to Ella by Bus. Thanks to the Appleton staff who are always with smile for helping hand.

This is the best place we have been in Sri Lanka. In terms of value for money, service and amenities. Which we noticed is that they are attention to details in every aspect. We really felt like home . We had dinner at Appleton, where I was super surprised with their reasonable price. Which’s the half of price we spent for lunch in Nuwaraeliya city center. Few things you should know when you travel Nuwara eliya. If you travel by your own vehicle there is no better place than this. This located between Nanuoya railway station and Nuwarael iya town. From the Appleton Villa to Nuwareliya town is exactly 5.9 Km which is 15 min to city center. What make you feel like as far is when the driver doesn’t know the road or else some Tuk Tuk driver want to charge extra that is why. Always take advise from the staff then you will be saved. Nuwara eliya itself is not a place to stay more than 2 days specially raining time. Overall we are quite happy with star class services.

-Chaminde was very friendly and helpful. He tried to accommodate us and always had a smile on. -Amazon prime and fast internet (especially handy for rainy days) -Very comfortable bed and warm shower -Free tea, coffee and water in the room and always provided

-Moldy room. The window was broken which made the room very cold and humid. Even with a heater (which was provided) we were cold and uncomfortable. We asked to change room but it was not possible due to the fact they were fully booked. -Location is really far from Nuwara Eliya (a bit less than 30 min by tuk tuk) which adds extra costs to the stay (about 1300 rs each way). There is nothing to do around the villa. -We stayed 3 nights because we wanted to have a few slow days but this is totally too long. I would recommend 1 maximum 2 if you arrive late by train.

Exuded quality in every way. The accommodation was a new build and finished to an exceptional standard. The beds were the most comfortable of our stay in Sri Lanka, even Netflix and Prime were provided for those who wanted to have a good choice of TV stations. There was plentiful hot water and air con and WiFi functioned perfectly, not always the case in other places where we stayed . In our opinion, the food and service could not be faulted, and Suresh, the owner, was an impeccable host, and provided a very personal service. The accommodation is out of town but easily accessible by a short Tuktuk ride. It suited our needs as we welcomed a chilled stay. Thank you Suresh and your team for everything. Gill and Nick

Hard to find

Everything was literally perfect about this place. When we came Suresh and his staff welcomed us with open arms and immediately took care of our luggage where you don’t see everywhere. We got to have a conversation with Suresh himself for 1.5 hours about him and his life and to say the least he was one of the most interesting people we have ever met and I mean that in a good way. His way of thinking is extraordinary and he got a beautiful vision of what life is. Our needs and questions was taken care of as quickly and Suresh and his staff could and they even washed our clothes. Me and my girlfriends best stay in Sri Lanka without a doubt. Next time we’re going to Sri Lanka we are coming back here.

Everything was perfect.

Everything! This is a luxury boutique homestay. The fresh white linen on a comfy bed, fluffy pillows, extra blankets, streaming channels on smart TV, and hot showers made this the best stay in Sri Lanka. There is fast internet to get work done. The breakfast is incredible. Most of all, Chaminda is the kindest host! The home is a drive out of town in a remote village.

I hardly grade any stay with a 10, but this one deserves it completely! By far, the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka! The hosts were amazing, always attentive, super kind, polite and had attention to every single detail. The food was great (we had breakfast, lunch and dinner). The room was out of this world, super comfortable, clean, cosy, and warm. We caught a storm while we were there, so there was not much to do outdoors, luckily there was streeming service so we spent the afternoon watching a movie to spend the time. The shower had the perfect temperature and pressure, and they had all the ameneties! Honestly, I was super happy with our stay!! Thank you so much!
