"Great host, comfortable bed"

7.0

Great homestay if you need it for 1 night, the host was super nice and helpful, we rented a scooter off her to go to the chocolate hills. Great price for a budget stay.

Not soundproof at all, and the neighbourhood dogs and roosters were noisey all night, the air conditioner is also very Loud.

Very welcoming hosts. Lovely spot near chocolate hills in local village. I rented a motorbike so it was easy to get to. Clearly marked sign on building as you arrive, so super easy to find. Free tea and coffee (with hot water flask) and nice communal sitting area. Good wifi connection is, just a little slow.

Roosters opposite were a little noisy but tolerable!

More like a homestay with nice family, even gave me a lift to bus stop when I left and accommodated my vegetarian needs with the evening meal. They had a book swap which are getting harder to find and the comfiest bed and pillow I've had yet on this trip! The village of Batuad was nice and very close- don't stay in Carmen. I had to change buses there and it seemed a bit of a run down scruffy construction site. Batuad is also closer to the chocolate hills- I walked it the first day and rented scooter from Mioki the second dawn visit ( for 400 which is a reasonable price).

The absolute only thing is the roosters next door. I have good earplugs so not a problem unless you need to hear your alarm for an early morning bus or something. Oh and no hot shower but not really needed in Philippines!

Very welcoming and hospitable family. I felt very much at home. Good location. In a very pleasant rural environment with paddy fields around, yet just about 7 minutes walk from the main road, where buses coming from Tagbilaran can drop you off. The parking lot for Chocolate Hills is around 10 minutes ride on a scooter. I had a very clean and comfortable room with a small attached bathroom. Air Conditioner is available for an extra charge but I didn't feel the need as the weather was pleasant. There was a shared terrace outside my room which was nice for chilling out. Breakfast was really good and at a very reasonable price. Purified water dispensers are provided. The scooter I rented from the guest house was in excellent condition. Overall a great place to stay and highly recommended.
