Villa Mankani Dambulla, centrally located in the cultural triangle

We spent the night in a lovely place and stayed in a chalet that was private and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, and Nalin was especially helpful with everything we needed. The location is peaceful and quiet, away from busy areas, so we drove to get there. During the day, you can spot some monkeys around. We added breakfast to our stay, and it was tasty and filling, with a Sri Lankan-style omelette, different seasonal fruits, and juice. Since I wasn’t feeling well, I asked for ginger tea, and they were nice enough to make it for me.

There were a couple of downsides, though. Since it’s a farmhouse, you might see geckos in the room, so you should be prepared if that bothers you. Also, in the middle of the night, around 4:30 AM, we woke up because our door was shaking. We found out later it was a dog causing it.

Room far too small. At some distance from the restaurant. Food was terrible. No alcohol served. Over priced. Villa Mankani has the makings of a great venue, but they are woefully underprepared to run this as a viable hotel. Much effort has gone into the decor and style but they haven't got the facilities or service training required for a decent tourist hotel/destination. Needs some reorganisation

WiFi connection was patchy - it made planning part of our trip more difficult

It was a very comfortable and hassle free stay. Food was wonderful and the staff was really helpful.

Lovely Villa, brilliant food, and nice pool

WiFi was almost non-existent

Beautiful surroundings and food was so tasty! Rooms were clean. From kids: I liked the pool and the games near our villa.

It would be good if there are hooks and a clothes rack inside the rooms. There is no wear to hang dirty clothes.

Beautiful buildings, calm surroundings and nature all around!

WiFi very patchy which took some getting used to as we wanted to do further planning of our trip. Though it was nice to settle and unplug after a while.

The location was good and easily accessible and the chalets were nice and beautiful. Surrounding was very calm in the morning of you want to spend some quality time. The staff were very helpful.

There is no signal. That's the only issue I had. Cz couldn't do our work properly while we are there.
