Rovi Homestay

It's a great place if you want to experience some true local lifestyle. Rovi Homestay is away from the typical tourist area, hidden within fisherman village. The hosts are super nice and the food they prepare for you is delicious! We had a chance to rent a private boat and go to the local market before. Rooms are very modest but cosy and clean.

The location is about 10 minutes out of town in a taxi (150-200php) and is less than a 10 minute walk from the hot springs (a must see!). For us it was an ideal quieter spot, with friendly locals and away from the hustle and bustle of the strip. There is a great pizza place next door (seriously good though) and the homestay owners will make you breakfast for a small fee (at your request). They will help you out with taxis/kayaks/tours. There are also a few small shops in the area for water & snacks. The two bathrooms are shared but we had no issues waiting around ages for a shower or to use the toilet etc. There is a mosquito net on the window and a fan in the room. It’s very clean and meets all basic needs. We were sad to leave as everyone was so friendly but the homestay was all booked up, so we couldn’t extend our stay!

The rooms are in a local village which location is good to go snorkeling to Siete Pecados and 10min scooter from town.The family was super lovely and helpful and we celebrated Christmas Eve with them, a very nice experience!

Sometimes water was turned off and needed to ask to turn it on in order to take a shower or flush the toilet, It is a bit uncomfortable,especially if you need to wake up early or during the night

Truly everything. It was fantastic to stay in the village off the tourist track. It couldn’t have been cleaner, and the family truly could not have been nicer. Wish I’d had more time here!

Cannot think of a single thing. Just learn how to take the collective tricycle to town (100 pesos) and then the distance doesn’t matter

Very nice place and quiet. Very kind and helpful couple. They arranged a private boat tour around coron and recommended us many places. Salamat po and see you!

The hosts are amazing and made our stay very special. We would ask for anything (Kajak, motorbikes, tours) and they would make it happen. Everything is clean and comfortable. It feels like you are staying with your family. Would definetly come back!

It is not in the center so if you prefer that maybe not for you.

Romel and Wilma are fantastic hosts. They made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to look after us. We hope to be able to visit again someday.

The homestay is in a cosy fishermen village. You are surrounded by friendly and helpful people. There is no dinner in the accommodation but the pizza next to it is delicious. And you can speak with local people there. The breakfast in the house is good and can be agreed individually. The rooms are simple but comfortable with the necessary things.

The way to that place is a bad road. Some drivers don't want to drive there. But you can always find someone. Inside the village is nothing except the locals, but they are very friendly.
