One of the kindest family's ive had the pleasure of staying with! Amazing food, perfect location, beautiful neighbourhood. If your after some local love, id highly recommend this place. I stayed here for over 3 weeks and I became part of the family!

"Exceptional"

The most authentic homestay experience I've had in Sri Lanka.  Located nicely in a quiet village, no noise of traffic at night. Good surf spots are within walk distance. There is a little boutique shop right nearby selling essentials, snacks and ice cream.  Mr.Thomasz is such a character. Friendly, talkative, humorous and intelligent. He can tell you many interesting stories of Sri Lanka.  Nalini cooks the best dishes. She happily invited us to the kitchen and showed us the authentic Sri Lankan cooking. Dinner is also available for very reasonable price.  From the moment you arrive here you feel like a part of the family and the community. Village kids playing cricket in the neighborhood greet you with big smiles. Monkeys, lizards, birds and fireflies visit the garden frequently. It's just a perfect place to come home after a day of surfing or sightseeing.  I recommend Thomasz House for anyone seeking a true local life experience in Ahangama area.

If you stay here you will feel like visiting family. They take really good care of you! The price and the food is also unbeatable. And I had some really good sleep there, it's located in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood and gets some fresh air in the nights.

"No proper roof and noisy"

The friendly host family let me prepare my own breakfast with their ingredients as I am not a big fan of Sri Lankan breakfast dishes. It is not all too far located from the city centre.

I booked for two nights but did not sleep a single night at this place because it was unbearable. The room was filled with flies and mosquitos. Besides that, the roofs were open so when I tried sleeping the first night, I heard someone else's extremely unpleasant snorting. During midday, you hear everyone else's conversation in the house.
