Chakana Hotel Machupicchu

El Buffet desayuno muy completo y las habitaciones acogedoras, me agrado que pude dejar mis maletas mientras visitaba machu picchu posterior al check-out.

I believe both Booking and this hotel should use its real name. I had really a tough time looking for a hotel that does not exist, as its real name it is Chakana. It is a total lack of respect by both Booking and this hotel with its customers. I spent one hour walking around the city just to find the hotel totally by chance, with the help of a security guard and a local. As the penalty of cancelation goes entirely to the tourist, it is really - really - unfair from Booking and the hotel to leave the situation like this. Additionally I made a claim with Booking with this regard. No answer at all. I firmly believe that Booking's objectuve should not be just to sell bookings. In the long term it will loss its purpose and customers.

Everything was great. The room and bed were comfortable, they were extremely helpful and kind, and the reception area was also a good place to hang while waiting a bit for my train.

This hotel is not called "Ausengate" on the sign, but "Chakana." Not knowing this ahead of time caused me some measure of anxiety. They really need to either change this on Booking, make it very clear in the description, and/or directly message people making reservations. The last thing you need after a day of travel is to not be able to find the hotel and for nobody to have heard of it.

room was big, spacious and clean, staff was friendly and accommodating, not a long walk from the train station. Breakfast was very nice on the top floor

As several people described in the reviews, there is a strange hole in the bathroom and the glass was missing. I recommend that thet do something about that. Noise travels through that opening. Most people only stay here one night and they often wake up at 5am to go to Machu Picchu, the first night there was a big group moving at that time and they were very loud, it woke us up. not the hotel's fault but FYI. Signage on the street should be changed too, I was glad that some people mentioned in the reviews that the sign says Chakana Hotel on the outside

Modern looking, great water pressure in the shower, good wifi, good location, early breakfast.

Very hard to find, the name above the entrance is different to the one used here. Only one person at reception understood and spoke English. Another person I encountered there didn’t. At breakfast, the two ladies working there were not able to keep up replenishing the empty food trays.

We had an early departure in the morning and were promised breakfast boxes at the time of the departure. However there were no breakfast boxes. Indeed, the front door was locked and no staff around. (we were able to unlock the door ourselves)

The property was actually very nice and conveniently located. Staff was accommodating and they served a nice breakfast buffet; which was included in the price. Free WIFI even worked during a city-wide power outage, as the had "Starlink" :) Bernd Williams Lake, BC, Canada
