Doonbank Cottage Bothy

The location was excellent and the privacy and quietness also exactly what we required. Proximity to the River Doon was a marvellous bonus. Chris met us on arrival and welcomed us warmly and made us scones. Tasted lovely. The Bothy is a very well laid out relaxing environment. Chris also left us eggs from his hens. Lovely. All in all a great place to unwind. Plenty of wildlife, fox, birds and rabbits.

The place was amazing, the grounds the cottage are on are beautiful and great for a wander. The bed was so comfy and the cottage had everything we might need during our stay. Chris even went above and beyond and dropped us off at Brig O Doon for a wedding we were attending.

Lovely and quiet location with its own garden and views of the river. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Fresh milk, eggs and scones from Chris were lovely too! He also dropped us off at the Brig O Doon hotel for a wedding.

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious accommodation in a superb location. Everything provided, including fresh eggs, milk and scones! We hope to visit again.

The location was excellent for the wedding at the Brig o' Doon Hotel. Enjoyed the secludedness of the bothy. The garden and surrounding woodland was lovely. The bedding and bed were super comfortable.

The Curtains were not clean. Unpleasant-looking staining around the Toilet pan outlet piping. The television in the bedroom had no channels tuned. Food left in the freezer from previous guests. A jug of milk was left in the fridge, unsure if it was the hosts who left it or previous guests.

Our host could not possibly done more to improve our stay. What a wonderful experience in such a beautifully peaceful part of the world. The accommodation was exceptional with all the amenities you would hope for and more. Eggs from the chickens, you get to know their names and honey from the bee's. Absolutely fantastic.

I could not find a fault and would recommend to anyone in need of a peaceful, relaxing couple of days to book here.

This wee cottage is a little hidden gem and you feel like your in the middle of nowhere. Chris the host met us on arrival and was a pleasure to meet. Cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed for a self catering stay. Nice outside space but unfortunately weather wasn't great so we didn't get to use it. Great location and plenty of local amenities around if you need to stock up or go for some nice food. We would definitely recommend Doonbank cottage

The bothy is so nice and bright and much bigger than we expected. It had everything we needed, and was very comfortable. They were kin,d accommodating, and communicative, and went out of their way to allow us to check in early and take us to our event nearby.
