Ein Haus von 1520 mit einem ganz tollen Ambiente. Die Gastgeberin ist bezaubernd und bereitet morgens ein wundervolles Frühstück zu. Man sitzt zusammen mit den anderen Gästen an einem Tisch in einer Küche und genießt die Atmosphäre. Das Haus liegt in der Altstadt von Rye (der Kopfsteinpflaster in nicht kompatibel mit Rollenkoffern). In der Nähe gibt es am Meer ein Naturschutzgebiet, dass man auf jeden Fall auch besuchen sollte. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Thank you so much Rachael!

Everything about this beautiful house is perfect - from the wonderful host, to the stunning property, to the central location. Breakfast is delicious. But the best part is the history, the creaking floorboards, the vast oak beams, the door latches… we will return!

This Bed & Breakfast in Rye is an absolute hidden gem. The house is more than 500 years old, and its fascinating history can still be felt everywhere. Parts of the construction, including some of the impressive ceiling beams, were made from old ship timbers, giving the entire building a truly unique atmosphere. Located in the beautiful Mermaid Street, this historic house is simply breathtaking. Even before our arrival, Rachael contacted us personally and made everything feel easy and welcoming. The key was prepared for us, and from the very first moment it did not feel like staying in a normal Bed & Breakfast. Instead, you feel like a guest in Rachael’s home — almost like part of the family. The whole house is open and inviting, with a wonderful large kitchen full of character and warmth. We stayed in the Vagabond Room, which is much more than just a room. It feels like a small suite, with its own entrance area and private bathroom, all designed with incredible charm and atmosphere. The entire suite radiates history, comfort, and authenticity in a way that is hard to describe. Every morning, Rachael prepared an outstanding Full English Breakfast in her beautiful kitchen, always with small variations and served with a very special English charm and hospitality. Everything is arranged with love and care, and throughout the stay you simply feel comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely looked after. This is exactly how hospitality should be — and honestly, it could not have been better. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to Rachael for this extraordinary experience, which we will carry home with us in our hearts.
