Casa do Cativo

Casa do Cativo is a beautiful guest house located very centrally in Porto, within easy walking distance to all of the main points of interest in the city. It's a lovely property beautifully decorated and with a clear attention to detail - our room was plenty big enough for 3 of us with comfy beds, nice bathroom and an external door which led straight on to the small but sweet garden area. Breakfast was top quality too (a great array of breads, meat, cheese, eggs, pastries etc.). The owner (Margarida) and her team were all really lovely and went out of their way to make our stay as special as possible. All in all Casa do Cativo is a great find and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you're staying in Porto.

Nothing to improve on - we had the perfect stay!

Casa do Cativo is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful city and in a great location. Just a 5 minute walk to the Sao Bento station and no more than 15-20 minute walk to many of Porto's gems. The room we were assigned was large, bright, and clean with a view of the city. The breakfast was delicious and expanded the continental breakfast idea by including eggs upon request. We'd highly recommend this place and would return if we get back to Porto.

Nothing here. This was just what we wanted and the staff were gracious and helpful.

Hidden behind a tiled front the barge double doors open to a secure entrance and long corridor. Our room was spacious well laid out and had many personal touches- water bottles and glasses at bedside, gowns and slippers, marble bathroom, charming wooden floors a small library, lovely original artworks, milk in the fridge. It was like coming home - such a comforting and warm environment. The central lounge room was open to all guests. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was just another added treat at this wonderful gracious accommodation

Le petit déjeuner très copieux avec un accueil chaleureux à première vue on ne croirait pas qu’après l’ouverture de l’entrée se cache un petit paradis c’est magnifique très beaux salons communs nous étions au 4eme étage avec ascenseur direct une splendide grande chambre avec cuisine et terrasse et une propreté impeccable Un grand merci à Magarida qui parle très bien le français et à son équipe très sympathique

Margarida est aux manettes, elle est toujours présente pour des conseils et s'assurer de votre bien être, soit physiquement ou par whatsapp. Le lieu est plein de charme et joliment décoré, l'ambiance est telle que l'on se sent merveilleusement bien. Le petit déjeuner préparé minute, copieux, les serviettes sont en tissus et si vous voulez quelque chose de plus vous n'avez qu'à demander. Rébéca prend soins de ses clients le tout sur une musique de fond discrète de bossa nova. que demander de plus !

Margarida es excepcional. Muy atenta y servicial. Todo lo informa detallado en varios idiomas y está atenta desde que haces la reserva. La habitación muy bonita y cuidada. el desayuno Fabuloso. 11/10

Tout était parfait : l’accueil, le confort de la chambre, le petit-déjeuner, la localisation … Nous reviendrons dans la région avec plaisir peut-être aux beaux jours lorsque la piscine sera ouverte !

L’environnement immédiat n’est pas le plus accueillant : travaux et fréquentation pas toujours recommandable le soir. Sinon mis à part ça la localisation est parfaite à proximité de tout et une fois passée la porte de l’hôtel on oublie le reste !
