Alea Tulum

We stayed 6 days after travelling round Mexico. The hotel is quiet enough the rooms adequate the food good but there isn’t much space to relax. A small decked area in front of the swim up pool rooms has 8 sun beds. The beach is rocky , it is possible to walk 150 yds to lie on the sand in front of other properties. The service is slow and occasionally problematic , I hate being reminded by waiters that service is not included every time we have breakfast, a drink etc. but perhaps that’s just a UK thing. The restaurant/bar area is next to reception so no sea views. I wouldn’t class this as a 5star resort.

Staff was great, property ok, very small beach with lots od shells, very uncomfortable to walk in.

We just spent a week at this amazing boutique hotel and absolutely loved it! The best service in the world (especially Steven and Miguel). If quiet surroundings, solitude from not being around many people, nourishing food and the most gorgeous ocean blue are your vibes this is your place. We enjoyed the gym. Breakfast was made to order from their menu (the avocado/greek yogurt bowl with fresh roasted pumpkin seeds, chia seeds and fresh fruit was our favorite). The food was so delicious we ended up eating every meal there, and highly recommend the fish tacos, chicken mole, and mezcal sampler. The staff was super helpful in arranging our excursions, which included a pickup on the beach to go snorkeling, see the ruins and swim with the sea turtles and manna rays. The beach has a lot of rocks, so definitely bring water shoes (but they have some to borrow if you need it). We also enjoyed sea kayaking, in the shallow reef area, the beautiful sea breeze, ocean view room and mellow atmosphere. If I go again, I would pick up a few bottles of water at the airport and bring to the hotel.

It’s a nice and quiet. The dining options could be better

This is a place to relax and unwind The staff is very friendly, go above and beyond. The hotel room is very clean. The views are breathtaking. kayaking is available in premises. I highly recommend to eat breakfast, as the menu has many options 😋

We loved staying at Alea Tulum! We had booked the penthouse suite which had breathtaking view of the ocean and a private pool / sun beds to our disposal. The staff are very courteous and helpful. They also have equipment for kayaks and other water activities

Hotel is fine. Good food and clean, well organized rooms. the problem is the location unless you want to scuba dive. The road to the hotel is rutted, potholed and difficult to navigate. It is muddy to walk, and a long way from anything other than the sister hotels. The beach. is rocky and similarly hard to navigate.
