"Cutest Log Cabin"

10.0

This is such a cute cabin. The listing makes it look like it might be on the water but those pics are from the owners house, which is available to guests to enjoy the water and views. I stayed for 2 nights and spent time exploring some local State Parks. The breakfast muffins, and fruit was perfect. I also enjoyed some good tea in the morning. The owner was very friendly and told me it took him 2 years to build the customized cabin.

"Don't be fooled by online pics"

2.0

We booked a cabin with 2 dbl beds. After arriving at 10 pm after a long day of travel, we found that the 2nd queen bed was an inflatable mattress which we couldn't inflate until we moved several pcs of furniture. Most of the air wa gone by morning. Insufficient amount of bath towels. Fan in loft didn't work. Continental breakfast left in fridge were grapes that were on their way to spoiling and dry muffins. Terribly expensive cabin with little to recommend it.

"Beautiful handcrafted log home"

10.0

We absolutely loved our two night stay at the Heron House! Chris & Jennifer were so kind and welcoming. The log home was even more beautiful than the pictures on the website. Chris built it all himself and it's amazing! The bed was extremely comfortable. The fruits, muffins, juices, coffee, and teas were a nice treat. We took full advantage of the opportunity to use the single & double kayaks along with the fun peddle boat. Their location right on the inlet is so peaceful. We wished we could have stayed longer and hope we can return one day.

"Peaceful setting to rejuvenate the soul"

10.0

We only stayed for 1 night at the Heron House (part of the Eld House) and wish we could have spent more time. This beautiful cabin provides comfort in an idyllic rustic setting. You immediately feel cozy inside with the fireplace, beautiful leather chairs/sofa and the quaint kitchen area with lots of herbal tea that warmed us up. There are lots of little places to sit outside and look at the evergreens, fog and water. The fresh fruit/muffin/continental breakfast was perfect to start our day as we headed home.

"Gorgeous retreat!"

10.0

This was a stunning retreat cabin nestled in the woods off Puget Sound. This hand hewn log cabin sits on a hill overlooking the trees and the water. A lovely continental breakfast is awaiting you in the fridge. It was a lovely weekend away! The owners who live down the hill are kind and attentive to your needs. We wish we could have stayed longer!

"Great B&B"

8.0

Stayed for a few nights and loved this place. There are several losing options on the property and we stayed at the Eld House. B&B is right on the Sound and you can take out the kayaks, fish, or do what we did, sit out and enjoy the peaceful view. The owners are fantastic. Great wealth of knowledge about the area, where to eat, what to do, etc. We would go back again in a heart beat.

"Fabulous Location, Great Hospitality!"

10.0

We just returned from a 2 day stay at the Eld House. It was so much better than the pictures. The 1 bedroom guest house is located above their garage area, with a magnificent view of the Eld Inlet. There were four of us at the house with 2 of the boys sleeping on their sofa bed (which was already made when we arrived!) The house is very tastefully decorated with nautical pictures, cozy throw blankets and pillows on the bed and sofa and a well stocked kitchen plus bath robes and WIFI! The continental breakfast consisted of a large overflowing bowl of fresh fruit of various varieties, store bought- but delicious muffins, small containers of cold cereal, milk, orange juice and coffee or tea selections plus a newspaper every morning. Chris, the owner warmly welcomed us when we first arrived and showed us around. The location was picturesque, relaxing and serene. The boys and I borrowed their 4 single kayaks (for FREE) to tour around the inlet and the boys were thrilled when we saw a seal! Chris graciously took pictures of us on the water and sent them to us. The grounds are wonderfully taken care of with grass and flowers and several areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. I enjoyed sipping my glass of wine while sitting on their padded bench swing watching the sunset....Highly recommend!

"Bad from the get go."

2.0

We stayed in the Heron House and this is the first review I have ever written that I am giving a one-star rating to. We arrived after a long drive to the house in the early evening with our 2 boys and encountered so many problems, I'll describe them briefly here. The house is for 4 people, the price is listed for one person and you pay $35 for each additional person. There is a queen bed for the first 2 people. For the other 2 people, you get a blow up air mattress (not inflated), and a pile of sheets sitting on the floor. We made up the bed ourselves, however, the sheets did not fit and the scratchy blankets were not very nice either. The bathroom was not clean and had hairs in the shower and on the carpeted floor space. The towels stank, like they had been damp for a long time. I didn't even want to dry myself with them...sadly, the sheets in the bed smelt the same. I have traveled extensively and I have never had this kind of smelly towels/sheets. The internet did not work, and while they attempted to fix it, it was treated as if we were a bother for mentioning that we needed to have access...mostly they suggested we go somewhere else to get internet. I'm sure they would normally have access but it was not handled well when they didn't. The breakfast was store bought muffins and fruit/juice/yogurts all low quality...a breakfast I could pick up at a grocery store/gas station. Not what I would expect from a bed and breakfast. While there was a pretty view, and the area is lovely, I would NOT recommend this place. We had other issues in our booking and our experience here, and I think the main owner was away but I wont list them all out. I still regret ever staying here with all the lovely options that there are in this beautiful area.
