Phi Phi CoCo Beach Resort

This hotel was our last stop on a 10 day tour round Thailand and what a place to finish. After our speedboat to the island, We were met at the port by a hotel porter who hoiked our suitcases onto a large trolley and dragged it along while we followed him to the hotel. The hotel itself is stunning. We were lucky enough to have booked one of the huts in front of the pool, so our view was glorious. The huts are well organised, clean, plenty of plug sockets, fresh drinking water, tea, coffee & towels daily. Breakfast was good with a huge selection which caters for everyone. Pool was lovely and clean, really nice comfy sunbeds, a pool bar with a good selection of cocktails, free kayaking, Thai massage on offer at the pool too. Restaurant in the evening was good too, even if it was quiet. Beware…. By night. We read other reviews so knew there would be some level of noise due to parties on the other side of the beach, we took earplugs, noise cancelling earphones etc but nothing actually prepared us for the level of noise we would experience. That music went on until 4am some mornings. I now have Shakira ‘this time for Africa’ stuck in my head on a loop. I think the only thing that would have stopped us hearing the bumping music all night would have been a general anaesthetic! Such a shame as otherwise it’s paradise.

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming little resort. The casitas are perfect for a couple but would be too small for a family. We really enjoyed the restaurant as well. They have a great pool and a beach just steps away from the pool. I read a lot of reviews complaining about noise, there were bars accross the bay playing music until the early hours each morning. You could hear the base but I could never make out the song. I only heard it when I woke up at night to use the bathroom....it did not effect my sleep in any way! Phi Phi Island has a lot of bars with loud music but the side of the bay that this resort is on is very quite at night. I would be happy to stay here again.

Coco Beach is a very nice hotel. We stayed in a cabin in the front with a view of the beach and pool area. And we are very pleasant by that. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff was nice and the level of service was high. We did know that Phi Phi is a loud island. But it is sad that the noise from the bars on the beach is that loud. And the walls of rooms at Coco Beach are very thin. But overall we recommend the hotel.

Traveling with girlfriends from California for a week before a golf/tour trip to Chiang Mai. We love beaches, swimming, snorkeling and unique resorts. This is a unique resort that has been ruined by too many surrounding with very loud music across the bay til after 2 am. Two of us are active, fun 70 yo, our friend under 50 who was more disgusted than us. They don’t tell you that after you get off the ferry or boat that you have to walk a mile to the hotel to check in so if you have any mobility issues this is not the place for you. The pool is not well maintained and is dirty from people with too much lotion. The water in front of the hotel appears to be clear but you cannot see the sandy bottom a foot down it’s so dirty. The restaurant is okay but drinks are expensive compared to Phuket or Bangkok.

However, it’s worth noting that access involves navigating four to five uneven steps, which may be a consideration for those with mobility concerns. The pool area is a highlight, offering a serene and well-maintained space with ample sun loungers and a convenient poolside bar. Adjacent to the pool, the hotel’s restaurant serves a generous buffet breakfast, complete with a wide variety of options, including eggs made to order—an ideal way to start the day. Despite these appealing aspects, the hotel does have one notable drawback: noise. The rooms lack soundproofing, and the surrounding nightlife brings loud music well into the early hours, often persisting until 2–3 a.m. For those staying near the back of the property, early morning staff activity adds another layer of disturbance, with noise starting as early as 7 a.m. While the hotel itself is lovely, with friendly staff and great amenities, the lack of nighttime tranquility may be a dealbreaker for light sleepers. For traveler's who prioritise atmosphere and service over absolute quiet, it remains a compelling choice.
