Overall very nice and modern

Great location. Walking distance to all that Southbank has to offer and straight across the river to the city. Clean, modern facilities.

We just spent a night in this lovely hotel. It is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. (And we’ve stayed in many). We went as a group of 14 family members ranging from 7 - 70+ for my birthday celebrations. We had 4 rooms in all. 3 with 2 queens beds + a sofa bed and 1 standard room. The decor was beautiful and the rooms were a great size so plenty of room. Very clean and new looking. Gorgeous views from our balcony overlooking the river. We had our dinner in their CBD restaurant. Our food was delicious and we were all well looked after with a smile from each and every staff member. The staff were so helpful. From check-in to dinner and more. Special mention must go to Declan who took the time to come up to our room to make sure we were happy with everything and if there was anything more he could do for us. Another special mention must go to Ellie who couldn’t do enough for us at dinner. Also the lovely young man who greeted us checking in our car. He was our first point of contact so great first impressions for the hotel. I’m sorry I didn’t get his name. All in all our experience was absolutely wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to be back again.

We spent our 10-year anniversary at this hotel in Brisbane, and it was truly memorable. The view overlooking South Bank and the Brisbane city skyline was absolutely spectacular, especially at night. The hotel went above and beyond to help us celebrate, surprising us with champagne and chocolates in our room. The room itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We were also impressed that the staff had already prepared a rollaway bed for our kids without us even asking – such thoughtful attention to detail. From the warm service to the stunning views, everything made our stay extra special. Highly recommend this hotel for both family stays and special occasions!

Loved everything about Rydes in Southbank Brisbane. Great location, friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms. Check in and check out was also easy with online check in.

We checked in Thursday 21/8 which initially went well and we were thoroughly enjoying our stay until Sunday afternoon when the management of this hotel showed their true lack of experience. Our room on the fifth floor was spacious and well appointed however this hotel does need some attention regarding general maintenance. I say this as the bathroom door was badly water damaged at the lower inside edge, there was a minor amount of mould in the shower to the silicone wall floor joint and the vanity tap body was loose and moved when adjusting the very stiff tap head. Re the latter, it took two requests to have it fixed with the first request taken by a lady who I can only describe as dismissive and disinterested and thus it didn't happen. I guess I'm not too far off the mark as it wasn't sorted until asking a more attentive gentleman the following day who had it sorted within three hours. Oh and please staff on how to ensure the room keys are cut so they work for the entire time a guest is checked in for! As I said the room and venue is ok however on the final day when heading from level P where breakfast is served (the breakfast including the staff are excellent by the way) we were met with full lifts to get to G. No issue as it was check out time and easily circumnavigated using the stairs. However after a quick search we could not find a set of un barricaded stairs so I asked a staff member of the breakfast crew for directions, they had absolutely no idea where or if there was a stair case and eventually disappeared never to be seen again looking for someone who did. You have heard of ensuring that every staff member knows the evacuation plan in an emergency right which is generally what the stairs are for, just the first example of incredibly poor management. On that topic, the hotel is fine but the incompetent management should be dismissed or retrained asap. I only say this as in addition to the above issues, we checked out on the day of a large protest which blocked off Grey and their side st. They were fully aware of this protest as they closed the outside bar area and locked the front doors yet seemingly failed to advise any of their guests of this impending disruption thus resulting in guests attempts to leave (or enter) the hotel a complete farce. They also allowed protesters to enter the building (flags and banners in hand) despite locking it down for their guests, what a pathetic outcome! We had to leave for the airport no later than 4:30pm however the protest was ongoing so we were forced to drag our luggage around 300 metres over to and through the nearby TAFE College navigating the protesters to where we could access an UBER as vehicles could not access their forecourt due to the protest and road closures. I felt for the staff as their manager provided no direction on what to do and was hiding as they were nowhere to be seen, this sadly meant staff had seemingly no clue as to what to do nor a plan on how to assist their guests which wasn't their fault. There is just no excuse for their incompetence of the management of this establishment as this event was fully known to them and it is only due to our own travel experience that we were able to work out a way to leave and make it to the airport in time with the assistance of the QLD Police surrounding the building who were excellent unlike you. Never again Rydges!

We were extremely impressed with the whole experience. The room was comfortable and airy and we loved the balcony. The staff were so helpful when we checked in and everything made us feel welcome and special. The cleanliness in the room was lovely. Breakfast was also so good. Thanks for a wonderful evening, night and morning. Lots of brownie points for all.

Rydges South Bank is a very good hotel that is in a great location. The room are standard but clean and comfortable - we really liked the balcony with excellent views of the city. We would come back.

Absolutely amazing stay, from the minute we pulled up in the driveway until we checked out. When we arrived, we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful concierge who assisted us with checking in and took our luggage directly to our room. The room was fantastic - it was so spacious and the beds/pillows were like sleeping on clouds! The entire stay was brilliant.
