Boundary, Alfreton by Marston's Inns

The bath plug didn’t really work, the water from the bath kept emptying out the water. We had the do not disturb sign on the door, but upon returning, someone had been in the room which I really didn’t like, I need to feel safe when I’m not at home and it made me not feel safe. Also, emptying all of your glass bins at 10pm outside of hotel rooms really isn’t a smart call, there must’ve been an earlier time of day that could be done, even half emptying, not waiting till they’re too full and staff have to throw individual bottles into the bin tk make it possible to lift the bins. The noise onslaught woke everyone up, please try to be more sensible when considering the guests. The loud music is easier to understand but emptying bottle bins in unsocial hours isn’t. There’s also a really unpleasant smell in the hotel. My autistic guest found it really hard to cope.

Enjoyed our stay at Boundary. Staff were brilliant especially on Sat 1st April when the place was very crowded, no hassle at all. Heating was not working in the hotel itself but fan heaters had been provided which did the job well. Location excellent for exploring the surrounding districts, in particular Matlock Bath in the Sunday afternoon sunshine.

I stayed for 5 nights a week for 3 weeks over a 6 week period. On arrival on each occasion i had to wait while a member of staff had to find someone to check me in. I ate twice whilst there and was not impressed, each time a fried egg was on the plate, how can a fried egg be burnt on both occasions it was? I arrived last Sunday @ 19.30 and was told if i wanted to eat i had 15 minute to get down to the bar and order. I was also told on each occasion if I wanted breakfast i had to decide, order and pay the night before. Why? On the second Friday I went to check out and found the hotel was closed and locked, no person was there and it was in darkness. I had to contact head office to get my invoice.

Room fine except poor water pressure in shower

Room was huge and comfortable .bath a lil dated but all in all fabulous. Pub food lovely.Staff so friendly and accomadating

This is well presented venue, in a quiet area. Unfortunately the staff member on duty was very rude towards guests checking in. As a result this has made consider any future bookings at a Marston's Inn.

Probably best vfm hotel i have stayed in. Only complaint was breakfast room was far too cold.

Nice place to stay and good value

Lovely pub with rooms in annexed building. Stayed whilst working for DFS locally. Good food, friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.
