TownePlace Suites by Marriott Dubuque Downtown

Checked in and my TV in the room would not work. First worker comes up and can't fix it. A few minutes later a second work shows up and completely wreaks like Marijuana. He ould not fix it. Front desk calls me and tells me the tv not going to be fixed for the night. We agree on 10,000 reward points as a compensation for the problem. They promise the points will go onto my account yet that day(a Tuesday). No points on Tuesday, no points on Wednesday. No points on Thursday. Then 2,500 points show up late on Friday. Unprofessional treatment and lack of integrity in dealings after the fact.

This is such a cute hotel staff was very friendly breakfast was amazing and pool was awesome very clean rooms & lounge area definitely 10/10 experience will definitely stay there again ! Also shout out to Amy front desk worker was very compassionate and caring for my family & I circumstances !! ☺️☺️☺️

We booked Marriott months ago for a tournament. I would advise caution on booking this hotel as we were just called and moved to the Holiday Inn due to “maintenance” issues. We are with an entire group, so this is very inconvenient. Holiday Inn’s are not as nice - and not only were we moved, but not offered any monetary recourse - only hotel points, so we are stuck paying well over $300 a night for a Holiday Inn.

I'm not a regular Townplace visitor, although we are Platinum Marriott Rewards and we had no experience with this brand of properties. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The room was very comfortable with great beds, shower, and crank it down cold air! The television was good and there were ear plugs if the local train make too much noise ( didn't bother us at all)! We enjoyed Dubuque as a gateway to the attractions in Wisconsin we visited and will probably be here again 😀!

I thought it was odd to see complimentary ear plugs on my night stand until the train horns started blowing not too far away. This went on until 11pm. I was woken up by more train horns at 2:30am and more at 530am. Beware, and ask for a room on the non train side on the hotel. They had no more rooms, so I was stuck with what they had. I should have driven another 90 minutes to Madison,

My son goes to Loras and I’ve said this hotel probably seven times in the last year. It’s a no-frills hotel but with a consistent experience, which is what people want. Special shout out to Terry. I’ve dealt with him the most of the hotel and he is so accommodating, and such a great representative of what hospitality should be.

Lobby was and breakfast were ok

Our heat did not work in our room and they doubled charged me for the room and it took constant nagging to get it reversed

I never stayed, they said they over booked

The price was very fair. If the price stays at this rate, we will be back. It was very quiet. A great location for drinks and eats.
