Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort

We just checked in to the Sheraton Waikiki and this is exactly why we love staying with Marriott. The front desk staff, Logan, was so welcoming and accommodating! The views are absolutely beautiful and the location is perfect. It is close to everything there is to do in Waikiki. Already off to a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful vacation week at the Sheraton Waikiki. Our room, 944 overlooked Diamond Head and the ocean where we were able to see both the sunrises and the sunsets. We watched the surfers who were out there day and night! Our room was a one bedroom Malia Suite which was an expansive 875 sq feet with 2 balconies! The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was in a quiet area and the hotel was conveniently walkable to many restaurants. In general the hotel was very clean and the housekeeping staff kept everything pristine. We rented chairs with an umbrella at the infinity pool for 2 of the days that we wanted to relax. The cost was $170 per day but the view and comfort was priceless! There are many stores in the lobby of the hotel where you can buy snacks, souvenirs and even lunch. The access to the beach area at the Sheraton is through the Family Pool area. We did sit on the beach and enjoyed the clear beautiful ocean. The beach was very clean and was not too crowded this time of year. Prior to the trip we reserved a rental car from the hotel's Avis car rental. We drove around the entire island that day and visited Pearl Harbor and the North Shore. We are very grateful for the kindness and generosity of the Sheraton Waikiki staff and our special week in paradise!

Not enough pool chairs for the amount of guests that are here. They have only four umbrellas for the entire infinity pool section. The pool attendants are not very knowledgeable. There are no beach chairs for guests. The beach chairs are contracted through a third party. If I come to a beach resort, I expect to have beach chairs on the beach, especially for the price of this resort. They do not have a waiting list for for pool chair rentals and they don't have a required time that you have to check in. So they'll leave a beach chair all day instead of allowing someone else to rent it, that's there. Will not be coming back to this resort.

$600 a night. Total rip off. The rooms look like they are from the 1980s. Complete with ugly harsh florescent lighting. The mattress was cheap, uncomfortable and sgging. There is no beach (and hasn't been in forever thanks to rising sea levels). There is a swimming pool but it is much too small for the size of the hotel. And there are only a handfull of chairs that you can see the pool from and even less that you can see the ocean from. And those chairs cost $$$$ to get and you have to reserve them well in advance. I've lived in Hawaii 33 years and would be very very mad if I came all the way from mainland USA to this for $600 a night. I'm not happy having just driven from a mile away for this. Oh. And there is a Toto toilet that washes your behind. It is covered in the stuff that comes out of your behind. I vomited when I saw that. Stay somewhere else.
