The room and view was amazing.

Didn’t have hot water the first couple days.

Amazing location, tricky roads leading to it but so worth it! The rooms are beautiful, with lovely big bathrooms with large shower. Few minutes walk to beach.

Paradise

Sleeping and waking up in the jungle, hearing to its sounds. Just magnificent. The lodge is well maintained and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. The lounge area offers very comfortable couches,we spent the whole day lying on them, as it was raining all day long.

We could not get any internet in the room, but it was not a big deal

The best meals we’ve had in the DR. Super nice staff and manager who went out of her way to recommend things to do and help us organize excursions

The nature is great and the beach nearby very beautiful. Feels very tranquil and isolated.

1. Cleanliness - bed sheets and towels had big stains which the staff only changed once we mentioned it. Mosquito net were also cheap and not helpful at keeping insects and dirt out. We were bitten numerous times each night even when using spray. 2. Facilities - No hot water for both days. Even after notifying the staff, the water remained cold and a new room was proposed but did not in the end transpire. Instead we were told to shower in another room and walk between them during a severe storm. In addition, everything was fully open to the elements so all our clothes and belongings got damp and damaged. 3. Staff - Other than those cooking and cleaning, the people running the lodge were disinterested and unhelpful. It was difficult to tell who was a guest and who was an owner as everyone was equally relaxed. When we asked about excursions, we didn’t get a clear answer or price until we asked. The location is also very wild yet we received no help with moving suitcases around. 4. Illness - One of us caught a very bad stomach bug (most likely from the pool). One of us swam in it and got very sick soon after. We saw the pool getting filled with water from the nearby stream that morning and the chlorination didn’t appear thorough. It resulted in over 12 hours of severe sickness which almost resulted in hospitalisation. When this was bought to the intention of the staff, they were more interested in defending their facilities as opposed to helping and mentioned that it had to come from somewhere else as no one else had gotten sick. The non-sick guest wanted to have food in the room to ensure the sick guest was okay and they made them carry the food on a tray from the kitchen during a storm. 5. Value for money - It was a premium price (roughly the same nightly rate as an all inclusive in punta cana) which felt extortionate considering the aforementioned issues.
