I loved the the staff and the view. Leah, the lady at the reception, is absolutely incredible. She was so friendly and kind, ready to help with whatever questions and requests I had. Thanks to people like Leah, the guests are very happy. The room was very basic, but it is ok for a night or two. Of course there are better rooms there if you pay more. The food was delicious.

My room didn't have a trash bin; I could also hear some noises in the middle of the night whether from guests or staff, I'm not sure.

A few minutes walk from the lake shore makes this a perfect location. The cleanliness, hot water showers and excellent wifi connection are added pluses as are the helpful staff. The view from the balcony is superb.

The food menu seems a tad inflated and limited for it offers.

Basic accommodations near Lake Kivu. Nothing special, just a budget place to stay for a couple of nights. The staff is friendly, but it takes FOREVER to get food out of the kitchen……even when you are the only person in the restaurant! Go to the restaurant at the Environmental Museum across the street (open til 9pm)!

The receptionist accidentally charged my credit card FOUR times. A $332 overcharge!! It wasn’t her fault….I watched her as the credit card machine seemingly malfunctioned before spitting out a paid voucher on the 4th attempt. The problem arose when I alerted management of the hotel to the problem. Initially they denied that I was overcharged, until I sent them a screenshot of my CC bill showing the 4 charges, clearly marked with the hotel name. After TWO WEEKS of texting them and pretty much being ignored, I threatened to report them to my bank and VISA for FRAUD. The owner then FINALLY offered to refund the $332 overcharge…..in Rwandan francs. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PAY WITH A FOREIGN CREDIT CARD!!!

It was a very cosy place, and it was very calm and peaceful. The food was great and they had a variated menu for lunch and dinner. We could rent bicycles and kayaks in the resort and the staff helped us to carry them to the lake. We had 3 wonderful days!
