The rooms are big and include a table and a fridge. The shower has hot water, and the view from the room is of the lake.

The last 100 meters to the property is through a dirt road and it’s not so easy to climb with a bike

The toilet and the sink in my bathroom were leaking, the room could have been cleaner (cobwebs, trash from previous guests not emptied), you can hear your neighbors if they talk a bit louder, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, make sure to order your dinner at the restaurant when you’re not yet hungry as it takes 1.5hrs to be ready

We had a view of the lake to admire. The staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a 6 island tour through the hotel which we would recommend. Thank you!

Amazing food that is brilliantly-priced ($16 for a beautiful grilled tilapia with fried plantain and several Virunga beers!) - stunning views; lovely staff; a short walk to catch a boat out onto the lake where you can take a beautiful early morning or sunset trip out to Napoléon island; loads of parking; really reasonable room price at around $30 per night per room. Big bed with brand new mosquito nets and white, fluffy towel.

There is no air conditioning or fans in the rooms so it gets stuffy; after the rainy season there was mould in the cupboard and in the shower and the bedding smelt damp; no hot water pipe to the basin; no soap or toiletries so make sure you pack your own! Took an hour for them to grill our fish (restaurant was empty!) so don’t be in a hurry and enjoy the sunset from the balcony. Walls are paper-thin so beware of noisy neighbours!

I had a fantastic stay at Rebero Kivu Resort in Kibuye. The location is ideal, offering breathtaking views of Lake Kivu. Waking up to that scenery was the highlight of my mornings. The breakfast was great with a variety of options, including some delicious local dishes. It was a perfect way to start the day. The staff was exceptionally friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Whether you're there for the view, the food, or the service, this hotel has everything . I’d definitely stay here again.
