Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa

Kids pool doesn’t have sand but rather rocks and it’s pretty bad. For how much they charge and how expensive it is, we won’t be going back. There is nothing outstanding at this hotel for the price better go to the Westin or Sheraton.

Beautiful Resort! This was our first trip to Maui. I traveled with my family to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff was welcoming and we appreciated the overall atmosphere from the beautifully kept grounds and wildlife to the cleanliness and design of the resort. The view from our ocean front room was breathtaking. We watched the sunset from our balcony most evenings. Beds were very comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. My kids especially loved the pool area. They enjoyed swimming at both the pools at the resort and the pools next door at the Residence Club. We did a few of the complimentary activities like bracelet making and yoga. We highly recommend the fitness classes. Our teacher was great and it was such a beautiful setting. We did the Luau at the resort and it was wonderful. We loved the huge selection of food and the drinks were very good as well. It did get chilly that evening, so I recommend being prepared for that just in case. From the hotel we both walked the path along the beach to Whaler’s Village and used the trolley, which took an especially long time on the way there, but was short and convenient on the way home. Lots of fun restaurants and shopping there. We especially enjoyed the live music at Leilani’s and Mai Tais at Monkey Pod. Beach was narrow in front of the hotel, but still lovely. We were able to check out beach chairs from the hotel, which was really nice. We loved it so much that we are planning to come back this year for spring break. Highly recommend!

We had such a great time here. The vibe is the perfect mix of super relaxed and high-energy fun. You absolutely cannot miss the sunrises and sunsets—the location is just stunning. The Highlights: * The Room: Super clean and perfect for us! There was plenty of storage for all our gear, and the amenities were spot on. * Pro-Tip on Noise: We were right by the elevator, so we’d hear a little hallway buzz when we were in the bathroom, but the bed area was totally quiet. We slept like babies! * Beach Access: part of the beach right in front is closed for dune restoration, but we honestly didn't mind the very short walk to the open access points at all. Shoutouts to the Staff: The service here is next level. * Dining (Swan Court, Umalu, & Japengo): 10/10. Everything we ate was incredible. * Valet: 10/10. Fast and friendly. * Front Desk: 9/10. Really helpful throughout our stay. A Small Note: The only tiny bummer (9/10) was that the jacuzzis were always packed, so we didn't get a chance to soak. Other than that, the value was totally reasonable for such a beautiful spot.

Much of the charm of this resort was lost through recent renovations, with the removal of the waterfalls/cave connecting the two pools as well as the bar within the cave. There were some staff that were wonderful as you'd expect, though several that significantly soured the overall impression and experience. The room was not as clean as expected upon arrival. The penguins, waterslides, and garden paths are still pleasant. While still a decent resort to visit, it was a severe disappointment compared to previous stays at this resort and for the cost.

The property is incredibly beautiful and relaxing. We had an oceanfront room and could not believe the beautiful sunsets every night. We even watched whales from our balcony. The restaurants all served delicious meals and the tropical drinks were spot on. We are already planning our next visit!

The lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful. I really liked her. But the guy whose name is Jim, from Berkley, CA, was a very rude, impatient, and terrible guy, especially at the front desk. He kept providing us the wrong information with a really bad attitude.

Excellent hotel, expensive but with. Wry food and service oriented staff, many wild birds ion staff.
