Old hotel showing signs of age. Nice staff, nice pool for kids, hot tub down for repairs. Took literally 10-15 minutes for morning hot water. No complimentary coffee for guests.

"Horrible all around"

First of all, the hotel’s construction quality is quite disappointing. Although they claim to have remodeled some rooms, it seems that housekeeping has not maintained the cleanliness to a satisfactory level. Additionally, the doors are very poorly designed in terms of soundproofing. For example, at 2 o’clock in the morning, you can clearly hear neighbors opening and closing their doors, which disrupts the quiet. The doors themselves have noticeable gaps underneath, around the top, and on the sides, which contributes to noise and affects privacy. Improving these aspects would greatly enhance the guest experience. Some front desk staff are friendly, while others come across as standoffish. As the face of the hotel, it’s important for the team to be consistently customer service-oriented. I was informed that showing your room key grants access to breakfast, but each morning the restaurant hostess asks for my room number, making the experience feel uncomfortable. Asking guests for this information every day could be avoided with better communication and recognition. Recognizing and making guests feel welcomed is a key part of excellent customer service. The engineering staff member seemed very busy but appeared unwilling to address the issues when visiting my room. Instead of attempting to fix anything, he simply said, “This is how it is.” This approach is frustrating and doesn’t meet the expectations for guest support. It would be helpful if maintenance staff showed more willingness to find solutions and assist guests proactively. I was surprised to find that the hotel charges for receiving Amazon deliveries. It seems unnecessary to charge guests for simply accepting a package and placing it on a shelf for pickup. A more guest-friendly approach would be to receive the deliveries without an additional fee, allowing guests to collect their items at their convenience. This small gesture would greatly improve the overall experience.

Good hotel for the area. Nice rooms, great services. Check in was excellent. Gosia at check in was amazing. Need to clone her. Lindon was great as well. Overall will stay there again.

"Fallen from grace"

I have been staying at this hotel for the last 5 years for business and likely have spent more than 100 nights here during that time. The hotel is a large hotel that is directly across from the Nassau Coliseum which use to be home to the NY Islanders Hockey Team. Since they moved the hotel is struggling and unfortunately has fallen in status. All though they started a room upgrade years ago, only one floor seems to have been updated. The lobby is updated and deceiving about the rest of the place. The rooms are falling apart. There is not one time I don't have an issue with plumbing, heating, AC, Electric, Etc. Rooms are musty and very dated. To make a profit the hotel basically opens the common areas up to any possible event and multiple at a time. Despite this I continue to stay due to the convenience to my office. Unfortunately, this last time broke my resolve to stay here. Basically, they rented their parking lot to a biker gang named the Gunfighters the week of Sept 30. Basically, there was a huge tent in the parking lot with about 1000 bikers and their bikes making noise to 1 am every night. The bikers also stayed in the hotel and were quite rowdy. Additionally at the same time there were church services going in in one of the ballrooms and a speed dating event going on in the lobby. They also rent out to flight crews from all over the world as it is close to JFK. The only way the hotel remains open is to open its doors to every possible circus that comes to town and between the noise, lack of parking and old and crumbling rooms I have had it. I would not stay there again and I will also advise my company to switch hotels for other employees which will result in a loss of several hundred room rentals per year. This is no longer a nice hotel where you can rest, it is a convention grounds for any circus that comes to town.

I stayed here when I took the bar exam and appreciated how spacious and quiet the rooms are. The property is very conveniently located for accessing Hofstra either by car or on foot.
