It was ok stay

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Pool was closed for maintenance and the wifi didn’t work. Adjacent Mediterranean restaurant was surprisingly good. For a single night stay after a transatlantic flight, the hotel absolutely met our needs.

Lobby is large the hallways were large the rooms were average there are hardly any plugins for your electronics water coming out from under the toilet when you flush it the lights were very dim and there's no breakfast go next door to the Greek restaurant breakfast was excellent done

For a non-smoking hotel the room smelled like smoke. Possibly it was on the prior visitors clothing? The indoor pool was closed. No continental breakfast.

I just spent a quick two nights here while attending a concert nearby in Beverly. I had Room 444. Location in Peabody/Danvers area about twenty minutes north of downtown Boston and Logan Airport. While not a dive by any means, clean and comfortable, and bed was great, this hotel is showing some age. This is a very old hotel, as is evident by the textured popcorn ceilings in the room. I guess this place was probably built in the late 1970s or early 1980s. It’s got be about 40 years old? They’ve done their best to kind of update it, but signs of age and wear and tear are still showing everywhere. Hallway corridor carpets a bit tired and ready for replacement. Dings, dents and scrapes on walls in the halls, elevators, and even the room furniture. Water stains in the corridor ceiling panels. Stains on room carpet. Things in the room such as white plastic light switch fixtures, white plastic electric outlet covers and the white plastic microwave, etc. were so old they were yellowing with age. The vent in the bathroom was drawing no air through the HVAC system at all. Could not connect to the Wi-Fi in my room. Room key quit working twice and I had to make a long walk down to the front desk to get it re-programmed. Pool was out of service. The hotel shuttle van has not run since Covid started and I was planning to use that to get to my event and back after having a few beers. The door to the rear side of the building doesn’t securely shut and lock unless you really close it hard. There’s a sign to make sure you shut it hard, exit only, but numerous times I’d go out late to have a cigarette and the thing had been left ajar and not locked. Basically anybody could’ve just walked in and completely bypassed front desk. This isn’t a really bad area of Boston, but I would still like better secured property. Shouldn’t take a lot of money to fix a door but it looks like the Side door has been busted up for many years. My last issue was that I booked the one bedroom king suite. The photo on the Holiday Inn website show this room as having a separate bedroom. However, it was really more like a studio with a partial wall dividing the sleeping area from the kitchenette and sitting area. It was not like the room shown on the Holiday Inn website. While I got a great nights rest and the bed was very comfortable and room clean, I’m not sure I would stay here again when there are other much newer built chain properties of the same star level and price range as Holiday Inn in the immediate proximity. Would prefer somewhere a little bit more modern and up-to-date. It worked for a quick stay.
