Delta Hotels by Marriott San Jose Aurola

We have stayed in Marriotts in many different countries in the past decades -- we are in our 60's and 70's -- and this was by far the most abysmal experience we have ever had. We stayed one night following our arrival to San Jose, CR. There was NO hot water, a trickle of cold water, and the bathroom had an obviously dirty towel on the counter, with hair in the tub/shower, a yellowed and stained shower tub and surround that needed a cleaning and update, with a warped and peeling bathroom door. I called repeatedly and received no answer for the front desk staff or customer hotel service. I then spoke with the front desk reps who indicated the hot water had been out for a day and a half, and was expected to be back on by 9 pm -- it was not but was warm in the morning. I'd also asked for the hotel manager to contact me which never occurred. This hotel should be closed completely until it is updated, or they should charge far less than they did. This hotel needs an update asap! Marriott should be ashamed of this property.

Hotel is very old. Rooms are set to be remodeled next year and boy do they need it. Old carpet, smells of mold. Breakfast was so so, didn’t have enough dishes and fruit was sad. Lobby was nice and staff was friendly. We were supposed to stay 5 nights but checked out after one and went elsewhere. Not a great part of town either.

Pool was unsafe, no steps out just metal ladder not good for seniors with limited arm strength. Also totally unheated in the shade so too cold to stay in (February visit). One ladder was loose as well.

Two days here no hot water and no competition for the inconvenience. No notification of any repairs. After three cold showers I have to say my patience has run out. I will post my bad experience to my 50000 subscribers. This is the first bad review I will sadly be doing…. Just a bad experience over all and I had to endure the cold shoulder not to stink like this hotel apparently intended for me.

Problem with tv but biggest problem was no hot water all night

The hotel is very central so good for sightseeing but not great at night for meals out as - like a lot of city centres - it isn't in a particularly nice neighbourhood. We felt perfectly safe out and about though. The hotel itself seems very dated. We were on the 11th Floor and you can't open the windows. Our room stank of stale smoke despite the hotel being 'non smoking'. I guess the smoke has pretty much penetrated the fabric of the building during the time when smoking was more acceptable. The bathroom was very basic, as was the room. But everything worked OK. Breakfast was nice. No idea about lunch and dinner as we ate out. 2 days was enough there. A reasonably price - hence average grading.

Property had dirty rugs in the room, bathroom tub was dirty.

Estuvimos sólo una noche, para estar cómodos y en un lugar centrico para concer lo básico de San José. el hotel es bueno, con buen desayuno y buen servicio.

We arrived exhausted after a flight from the UK and the first thing we noticed when we walked into our room on the 11th floor was the stink of smoke. This is a non -smoking hotel... We were too tired to go down and try for an alternative room and guessed that a number of the rooms would be in a similar state as the hotel was obviously in need of a bit of TLC. Our room just felt exhausted... So we just put up with it for 2 days. Our room was dark and gloomy but the bed was fine, the air con was OK and the shower worked very well.So it was fine for the 2 nights we were there. Any longer would have been too much. If we ever returned we would attempt to get a real non-smoking room!
