Beautiful historic building with friendly staff. I wish I had the time to try their restaurant because it looked wonderful.

The room had a heavy perfumed scent, like the scented powders used in carpets to cover up other musty scents. I opened the windows and the door to the hall to air it out for about 30 minutes and then it was manageable but I still got a headache. They did have a sign in the room that they were doing updates.

Great hotel, love the dark wood interior and the room was nice; HOWEVER, $81 a night valet only parking. A no go if you have a vehicle you need to park overnight.

Best hotel experience we have had in Seattle. Love the Hotel Sorrento. Very comfortable bed, excellent service, staff is great. Could not have had a better experience.

The Sorrento was the perfect place for our stay in Seattle due to medical reasons. It is very convenient to Virginia Mason . We found the rooms to be comfortable and well appointed . The team (front desk, restaurant, valet, housekeeping) were all helpful, kind, accommodating, and service-oriented.

We visited for 5 nights and were very pleasantly surprised by our large and comfortable bed and spacious room. Everyone from the bellman and front desk to the cleaning staff were friendly and welcoming. The fitness center was fully oufitted and a decent size too. The cherry on top was the awesome food at Stellas- we ate there for breakfast 1x and dinner too. Both were really fabulous with good service as well. The hotel is convenient to the ferry station and water front and a short walk to Pike's place and Pioneer Square as well

The Sorrento never disappoints me. When I travel to Seattle from my home in Port Townsend, and need to stay overnight, it is my GO TO place. The central location is PERFECT..One can walk downtown, to the Market, to St. James, to the hospitals, and to great restaurants. Plus, the charm and uniqueness of the hotel can't be beat. The staff are second to none--plus the food in the FIreside Room and Stella's is very, very good. Give me the Sorrento ANY day over a "cookie cutter" hotel. I HIGHLY recommend The Sorrento as THE place to stay in Seattle.

Dear Sorrento: We really enjoyed our first stay. We have stayed in smaller, older hotels like this in Europe and prefer them. We live on the Olympic Peninsula and do more day trips to Seattle, but we will come back for weekends with you. We have a small dog, and you accommodated that. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food! I had a risotto which was very good, and my wife loved her entree. The insalate caprese was excellent with the roasted eggplant—a nice twist. For breakfast, I had a bagel with lox and cream cheese (a favorite) and you were very generous with the lox! My wife's frittata was delicious too. The serving staff is excellent. I forgot to look if you have pizza...we have eaten Neapolitan pizza in Sorrento Italy and pizza in Rome and I woke I today up thinking, "I wonder if the hotel has a pizza oven" (I have one at home)? It is an easy walk down to the waterfront (and Copperworks Distillery!) and the uphill return is excellent exercise. The dog liked it :) . I Googled the owner and the story behind acquiring the hotel, and how run-down it was. I love the renovation and his commitment to preserving and restoring the hotel (like getting rid of the puka shell wall treatments—WHAT were they thinking?). It has had some notable guests (Vanderbilts!) 100 years ago when it was in its infancy, founded in 1909. Cool that it is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is amazing how the Seattle skyline has changed in the dozen years since we moved here...maybe 10-15 new high-rise buildings. They are new and fancy, but don't have the charm of a historic building. We had a suite which we really enjoyed (I didn't see the standard rooms. Note: People, this is a renovated 117 year old building! The floor is creaky in places, and it has other eccentricities that are not negatives (eg, small elevator). Pretend you're in Sorrento Italy. Thank you. We look forward to coming back.
