Nice place

The DoubleTree Chicago–Wood Dale–Elk Grove is about a 20-minute drive from O’Hare Airport, making it a convenient option for layovers or quick stays. It’s not connected to the CTA or Metra, so you’ll need a car, and the hotel sits in more of an industrial area without restaurants in easy walking distance. Being on the west side of O’Hare, you will hear plane traffic. During the day it’s noticeable, but at night it wasn’t loud enough to wake me. The hotel itself is older and shows its age with dated hallways, carpets, and elevators, but what it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in value and service. Rates are often much lower than other Hilton options near the airport, and every staff member I interacted with — from the front desk to housekeeping to the bar staff — was genuinely friendly. The property features a fitness center and a surprisingly large indoor pool (one of the longest I’ve seen at a Hilton), though there’s no hot tub. The restaurant serves typical pub-style food — I’ve tried the burgers, sweet potato fries, and quesadillas, all of which were decent and convenient when you don’t feel like driving out. Overall, this was my 3rd or 4th stay here, and while the hotel is definitely dated, it’s convenient, affordable, and reliable if you just need a place to stay before or after a flight.

I didn’t like the pet fee of $75 because it really never said that just pet friendly when I booked? Also there was not anyone to check out the next day waited for 10-15 mins? The breakfast is around $15 per person and dinner which I didn’t bother with.. Hotel seems to be on a decline, which noticed in room stains on carpet, drain popes out of shower like they caulked it down.. The TV couldn’t operate from the remote! I had troubles with WiFi .. I am not sure if I would stay there but harder to find places with a dog who is not service dog. The staff don’t seem to speak good English and are somewhat rude and not very impressed with the way they are! Not a 4 star place at all! But I would stay if I had to because it was not too unsafe.

I understand that good help can be hard to find, but my check-in experience was disappointing. The staff member assisting me seemed more interested in chatting with her coworker than helping me. When I raised my concerns with the manager, I felt as though I was being a nuisance. So far, the "Diamond for Life" experience has not met expectations.

Low price but not convenient from ORD ($50 taxi ride). Hotel needs refreshing and light renovation.

The hotel met my needs but was not the Doubletree I’m used to. I arrived in the evening and it was difficult to see from the road. The parking lot and entrance were dark making me uncomfortable walking in. I ordered a meal from the bar and it was not as described on the menu. The hallway outside my room was busy and noisy throughout the night.

The service in this hotel as a Hilton family was not up to the standard you would expect from Hilton hotels. The first impressions matters a lot. We got there after a long drive and had to stand in line for check in. There were only two other groups in front of us but it took 15 minutes for them to be checked in. They charged us $2 for a bottle of water. It makes a way nicer impression to add that $2 to the overall room price and just give a complimentary water bottle to each guest. Finally, I wasn't able to get help from the room service by calling them on the phone. Overall, while it was a beautiful place, there is a little chance we choose to stay there again.
