"A Stain on the Marriott Brand"

From the cobweb covered skylights over the lobby to out of order signs everywhere: the espresso machine in the M Lounge (apparently for months per reviews), the excersize equipment - incl the one bench they didnt even care to fix, the Franchisee / Ownership has completely abandoned this property. The many broken items are cheap to repair. Tells you everything. As a "lifetime bonvoy gold" it was pulling teeth to get a late sunday (3pm) checkout so my son could enjoy a few precious hours in my 2nd room before having to report back to Ft Benning. They gave us one measley extra hour. To add insult to injury I accidentally left my 2nd wallet in room 215. (Use a slim money clip for essentials). Not only was the room still empty when i called the following day, so why the 1 hr only late checkout, but of course the room had been "cleaned" which also meant my wallet was "GONE".. Great trustworthy staff. Marriott Bonvoy take note-bad look. Travelers-I found cleaner better maintained properties for less downtow by the river..

"Recent Business Stay"

I recently stayed at the Columbus Marriott, and I want to begin by highlighting the exceptional service I received from Ellen at the front desk. I was unable to locate my Marriott Bonvoy number, and she went above and beyond to find it and ensure my account was properly updated. Her professionalism set a strong tone for my stay. As a business traveler, I prioritize two things above all: the professionalism of the staff and the cleanliness of the property. In both areas, this hotel excelled. Every team member I encountered—both at the front desk and at Houlihan’s restaurant—was courteous, attentive, and welcoming. The hotel itself was clean and well‑maintained. Where the experience fell slightly short was in the in‑room amenities. Most hotels today offer some combination of a refrigerator, microwave, and safe, especially for business travelers. My room included only a refrigerator. Additionally, one unusual and concerning feature was that the guest room door opened outward into the hallway rather than inward. This design eliminates the ability to use a security latch or deadbolt to prevent unwanted entry, which raised a safety concern for me. If I return to this property, I will request a room with a standard inward‑opening door. Overall, based on the excellent staff and cleanliness—but with some room for improvement in amenities and room design—I rated my stay four stars. Darryl Knox

Everything about this hotel is awesome! More importantly the staff is amazing! Everyone at the front desk is super friendly and helpful, they always have a smile, you can tell they really like their job! Joyce in the M Club truly goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Rooms are updated and clean, location to downtown and restaurants is perfect. Thanks Marriott for your amazing hospitality.
