Columbus Marriott

Great hotel in the perfect downtown riverwalk area. Nicely maintained hotel with friendly staff. There is a restaurant and and bar connected to the hotel. Wifi was strong. Room was comfortable. Only issues: There was only one working elevator and there was no shower gel in the guest room. The staff did not acknowledge Marriott status if that matters. There is a parking fee if $15/ night. We had a good visit and I would come back.

I was visiting Columbus to attend a library conference. I spoke with Ms. Brenda who helped me reserve my rooms for the conference over the phone. She made the process very easy and fun; I was looking forward to putting a face with the name when I arrived to keep the party going. She was as energetic then as she was over phone. Along with Ms. Brenda, Ms. Paris and Ms. Jade did an awesome job getting me checked in and providing an above and beyond experience. Each time I walked passed the desk, I was greeted with a smile and words of encouragement (have a great day/night, learn something today etc.,). And any time I had a question, they were happy to answer and resolve my needs. When I was able to make it down for breakfast, Ms. Alice took very good care of me and the group that I was with. She helped my crew get situated and answered any questions or concerns that we had. The staff as a whole were nice and friendly. I did not have any issues with my room. Everything was neat and clean. I did not check the amenities before I booked, so I was not aware that a microwave wasn't in the room. That wasn't a big deal for me but just something to look out for. There is also a freight train that passes right by the hotel. They provide ear plugs to help deal with the loud train horn. I actually enjoyed the train. I thought it provided a unique experience.

I’m a Bonvoy member and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times but I always request a certain room, well the one time I didn’t, my room had mold and looked like a water leak. I didn’t notice it until late night because I checked in and had to rush to a concert at the civic center. I was wondering why my allergies was acting up bad once we got back. I finally noticed it was mold in the room. I was down for almost a week with allergies after I got home. Inspect your room once you check in. All rooms are not the same. I didn’t receive points for that night or a check out email to leave a review.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a last minute get away and this was our first time. We absolutely loved it! We stayed in a club level room and it was definitely worth it. The staff here is absolutely precious. The bellman was so helpful. Our servers, the club host, and the check in staff were top notch and so warm! We will definitely be back!

Poor customer service, property in decline- musty smelling lobby, cobwebs everywhere. Would not recommend at all. Not typical of Marriott .
