The Desoto Savannah

Everything was great. The location could not be better and the view from the balcony is superb. The only strange thing was that the valet had no information on how to catch the bus to the airport.

We had a very nice two-night stay at the DeSoto. The rooms were clean and perfectly serviceable, but nothing exceptional. The hotel and street were quiet at night, and the location was great: easily walkable to things we wanted to do, but not so close that the streets were covered in tourists. We unfortunately did not use the amenities, as the weather was not the best for poolside lounging. The staff were great, though. I mostly interacted with the valet staff, who were all very personable. Big thank you to valets Xavier, Gio, and DJ. From our first impression on pulling up to our last as we drove away to a wave, they were awesome. Big props to those guys, who were working hard with a great attitude. If we're in Savannah again, we'll be back here.

Very nice, clean historic hotel. Staff was extremely friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable. We were right in the downtown historic district where everything was a walkable distance. We enjoyed our stay immensely. DeSoto keep up the great work!

Location location location!! In the heart of it all. Walked the 22 squares over 3 days. Close to so many good restaurants and coffee joints. AND has a great pool bar to relax at prior to going out for the night.

It was ok. Had to complain about noise from my neighbors one night. Walls and connecting doors are extremely thin. There were ladies in the room next to me the next night and just them having a slightly loud conversation was extremely disturbing. The most disappointing thing happened the morning I checked out. I went to the front desk around 4:45am on my way out to get my car. The lady at the front desk was sleeping. I said “excuse me” to wake her and ask her if I could park my car up front to load my bags. Her response was to go ask valet. I went outside to ask and didn’t see and valet or any signs of valet. I went back in to ask her where they were or if she could help me and her response was to tell me to just wait for them outside. I had a flight to catch and honestly expected her to have some answers for me. On my way back in from parking my car up front (never saw valet so parked there anyway) she was asleep again. I also wish there was a small pantry area where you could grab snacks and drinks late at night. No place to get anything but water if the restaurant is closed. As well as no fridge either. So you can’t take anything back for when things are closed. For as nice as this place is it felt like a holiday inn.

The hotel and pool area were fantastic, along with the views. A few minor things in the room needed to be addressed such as loose bathroom fixtures (tub and sink), and there was a stain on the carpet but we enjoyed every bit of our stay. It was within walking distance to just about everything. The texting service for the front desk was top tier.

I recently stayed at The DeSoto Hotel in Savannah and had an outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was exceptional. Raven at the front desk was welcoming, professional, and incredibly helpful, making check-in smooth and ensuring I felt valued as a guest. The gentlemen at valet also provided excellent service throughout my stay. They were courteous, efficient, and always greeted me with a smile, making arrivals and departures stress-free. The combination of Southern hospitality, attentive staff, and a beautiful hotel made my visit truly memorable. I highly recommend The DeSoto Hotel and look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Savannah. Thank you, Raven and the valet team, for going above and beyond!

I stayed at The DeSoto over Memorial Day weekend and had an absolutely lovely experience. Savannah is such a wonderful, welcoming city, and The DeSoto truly does not disappoint. My room was spotless, comfortable, and clearly well cared for, and every interaction with the staff was excellent — friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The pool was refreshing and a perfect place to unwind after exploring the city. I also stopped into Proof & Provision, and the drinks were fantastic — some of the best I’ve had in a hotel bar. Overall, I couldn’t have been happier with my stay. I’ll definitely be back. Until next time, Savannah

We had a wonderful stay at The DeSoto Savannah and would highly recommend it! From the moment we arrived, the valet staff were incredibly helpful and set the tone for the whole trip. The front desk team was equally warm and accommodating throughout our stay. The room was comfortable with a beautiful view, and both the restaurant and coffee bar were excellent — we really enjoyed both. The hotel itself is stunning and the location is hard to beat. The only minor things to be aware of: the room doesn’t have a mini fridge or microwave, and the TV is limited to live channels only — no streaming apps — with internet that was a bit too slow to make up the difference. Small inconveniences in an otherwise fantastic experience. We’d definitely stay again!
