The Desoto Savannah

Savannah is an amazing and historic city. The DeSoto hotel is in the historic district and close to various restaurants and shops, just a short walk to the river as well which is great. Parking is valet only at $53/night. Would have preferred self parking for less but understandable. The lobby and restaurants were nice. The pool area was good and I liked that it had a large shallow area, great for kids. The hotel itself is a bit dated and updates/upkeep is a bit lacking. Our room was a decent size but had decent wear and tear and poor maintenance/cleaning (pain smears on the door handles, lots of caulk, stains on the vanity which were able to be removed with some intentional cleaning. Staff were friendly when approached but not very attentive. Overall it was an ok hotel but I will not be back.

We came down to Savannah to pick up our son from SCAD for the summer. As usual (this was our 4th time staying at the Desoto), everything was perfect. Everyone there is incredibly friendly, nice, and helpful. The Valet service in particular was excellent. I would like to give a big shoutout to Gio, Darrell, and Reese specifically for the way they did their job. I also want to recognize Akilah at the front desk for her friendly attitude and assistance. We will be back again in September. Thanks!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The DeSoto. It was our second time to stay there during our granddaughter’s college time at SCAD. She graduated on May 29, and we were kept busy with her related activities and events. Thus, we didn’t use any of the hotel’s amenities other than an immaculate room with comfortable bed and the restaurant for a delicious breakfast. Everyone we encountered was cordial and willing to be of service. The DeSoto’s location is ideal since it’s in the middle of the Historic District and easily walkable to our areas of interest. Savannah is a beautiful city and The DeSoto is a wonderful lodging choice for experiencing it.

5. The staff is exceptional as well as the comfortable bed, sheets and bedding. My only feedback is there should be more lounge chairs a the pool. Each day there were not enough for the guests looking to lounge by the pool.

Pool has lovely lounge chairs in the shallow water. Beautiful rooms and excellent location. I would stay here again

The valet staff was so great. They help our elderly parents, we're great with getting our car quickly, and they were always pleasant. Gio and Curtis were especially kind and professional.

I was in room 405 which was horrible because I could hear everybody talking out on the sidewalk, sirens from cop cars going by, people drag, racing up and down the road. I was also right next to the elevator and could hear everybody getting on and off being loud and obnoxious at night. I spent two nights not getting any sleep whatsoever. I would also like to add that there was no refrigerator to put my drinks to keep them cold and there was a lot of mold and in the bathroom. The balcony was also terrible looking. When I reserved the room, I did it because of the location and will never ever stay atthis hotel again.

Wonderful hotel, excellent location. The DeSoto was perfect for us to celebrate our child’s graduation from SCAD. Simple, clean, fantastic customer service as well as good food. A special shout out to Bre at the coffee shop whose professionalism and expertise were remarkable. She handled a long line of customers with exemplary care, efficiency, and grace.

This is a beautiful historic hotel and one of the most comfortable beds and rooms that I have stayed at in the last year.
