Treffen House Doha - Souq Waqif and next to Msheireb Metro Station

It is supposed to be Mercure Grand Hotel Doha City Centre. But actual location is in old Sofitel hotel. Location details must be updated!! (Nov 2014 visit)

Tired and needs refurb, building work all around the hotel and roads closed

The really bad. The entrance is crowded of construction employees hanging around

Overall the hotel was very nice, however there is too much construction going on, Being a lone traveler it was not a nice experience going outside the hotel because of construction workers everywhere. The room was clean and staff were all very helpful.

The front end (office) managerin the evening shift was ectremely rude. she was not helpful and impossible to work with. she actually raised her voice to me so i asked for a manager. the manager fixed the problem quickly. all tbe other staff agreed that the female Philippina night manager ahould not deal with customers. i hope they move her in to a less visable position.

Whilst the hotel is certainly not 4/5 star, it is a very pleasant place to stay. We stayed 2 nights and the room and facilities were more than adequate for our needs. I have never seen such good staff - they were amazing, from the room cleaners to the front desk. Definitely 5 star staff! Cost was excellent. Normally we never order room service, but Very cheap and delicious. Will definitely stay again next time we pass through Doha. Hats off to the wonderful staff. Would rate hotel 3 1/2 star.

We had one incident, a stupid taxi driver was blocking the way to the door. we couldn't park until he decided to leave. We complaint to the hotel but they did nothing, not even satisfying us with an upgrade or free breakfast. That was a bad way to deal with a complaint. Other than that they were helpful, and we enjoyed the rest of the stay. if you don't want to spend a lot of many, and you want a place to sleep and park your car, its a good choice.

The only restaurant during the day closes down between 10:30 am and noon the change from breakfast to lunch buffet. If you don't make it to breakfast by 10:30 am, you have to wait until noon or order from a very limited room service menu. The bar does not open until 5pm...I ordered two "cold" beers from room service only to receive near room temperature beer.

The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, hotel in good location within walking distance to gold market.. The roof restruant/lounge also great for a drink & meal at the end of the day.

Everything was fine, except for the construction next to the hotel. I would still stay again, just make sure you get a room away from the construction and noise. Love the Bar upstairs
