Holiday Inn Spartanburg Northwest by IHG

This is located in a rough industrial area, just off Veteran's Parkway. It's not easy to get to, either, with a confusing traffic circle to navigate. That said, the location does make it convenient for accessing GSP Airport (about 20 miles straight down the freeway). The exterior looks like some kind of 1960s concrete box with windows, and the parking lot needs a good repaving. But it all changes when you walk through the doors. For one, the receptionist was really welcoming and friendly. Got me a nice room quickly. As for the room, it was good sized with a fairly unique and funky decor. It was far from the standard Holiday Inn template, and that was most welcoming. There were quirky decorations on the credenza, behind the bed on the walls, and even on the bag stand. These were sprinkled with homey photos on the wall for a more personal touch. It was co-ordinated, like somebody put some actual thought into the room style. I loved it. If you can put aside the neighbourhood, this is a nice place to spend a night if you're transiting Spartanburg.
