Embassy Suites by Hilton Kansas City Plaza

This hotel needs to be rescued. I have a hard time understanding why Hilton would attach its brand. I like to be fair and list the good with the bad. This location had decent staff, very good pool area and nice breakfast. The first things that pop into my mind when I recall my stay there are the dismal elevator situation and the stained and filthy floors throughout, including the rooms. There are three elevators but according to what we heard, only two have been working for quite some time. There are long, frustrating waits for an elevator and many people were upset about this. The beds are not comfortable. The room furnishings are pretty junky. I looked around the place and struggled to find one thing that couldn’t use improvement. This hotel is located across from a huge hospital and we heard ambulance sirens all night long. For some reason there is a lot of drag racing going on late at night; much noise from outside. And the parking situation is not good. They have arms to keep out people that don’t belong in the parking area but one entrance keeps the arm up all the time. There were several break-ins while we were there. I would definitely recommend finding a different hotel until this place makes some improvements.

The breakfast was great!

The pool was closed for 2 days and only extended our stay for 2 hrs and the pool still was not fixed. Dirty towels in the room. No face towels I never received my deposit back

The room for the most part was clean and comfortable.

We used to stay at the Embassy Suites when we were younger and it has definitely changed and gone downhill. The room cleanliness was ok, but the shower did not drain. Also our top security lock on our door was broken. The breakfast is not what is not what I remember (in a bad way). The waffles for one, were hard. When we arrived, only 2/3 elevators worked. By the end of our stay only 1/3 elevators worked. Because of what this Embassy Suites has become, the price needs to reflect that.

Friendly staff, pool and game room for kids.

Some trash was left in our bathroom (before our stay) and used sheets and dishes were left in the hallway all day long.
