From start to end the service was amazing! Had a wonderful time at the Leith Malmaison. The staff were so attentive and made our birthday celebrations so special. Our room was lovely and we really enjoyed our evening meals. Definitely try to make steak night. Hannah at breakfast was particularly friendly and helpful. We will be back soon. Many thanks

Lovely night over a Malmaison leith. Even with the scaffolding due to external repairs this didnt detract from our visit at all. From minute walked in the reception staff were lovely asking us about our day so far and also our plans during our stay, they were quick to tall us about the hotel the history and local things to do, are a credit to the hotel. Our room was ready early which was great allowed us to get settled and start our day away. The room was lovely nice size and had charachter not shiny new but felt homely. The bed was a 12 / 10 super comfy, great pillows and lovely sheets. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower which was great. Lots of nice touches the nespresso machine biscuits and all the good things you expect. The breakfast following morning was amazing so fresh and cooked to perfection and could tell it was all quality ingredients. You also got the continental along with cooked and loads of choice. Would definitely recommend hotel if in Edinburgh as location is so easy for centre as tram line just meters aways. Would score hotel 4.5 stars and would have scored 5 star my only minor point was attention to detail on paint decoration finish on room for level of hotel could be improved. Paint on room door handles, curtain poles etc and not 5 stars finish. Defo go stay staff and quality of everything else along with bit of old charm makes it worth it

We’ve stayed at this hotel a few times before and have always loved it, so we were really looking forward to coming back for our anniversary stay. We booked the signature suite with the harbour view — a bit of a treat for the special occasion. When we arrived, though, we were surprised to find the car park full and the building covered in scaffolding. We completely understand that historic buildings need ongoing care, and we don’t mind that at all — but what let things down was the lack of communication. We had a pre-arrival call and nothing was mentioned, and the views (which we’d specifically booked for) were completely blocked, and the construction works reflecting lights back into the room at night that leaked around the curtains. When we asked about it, we were simply told the info was on the website — hidden in a small tab, and added after we’d booked months ago. A bit of advance notice would have gone a long way — we might have chosen different dates or a different room. The suite itself was lovely as always, and the team were friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately by then the experience had already lost some of its sparkle. All that said, if you’re someone who doesn’t mind closed curtains and parking elsewhere, you’ll still have a great stay — but if, like us, the view and convenience are part of the treat, it’s worth checking ahead or waiting until the works are complete.

Had a really great stay here. Just one night with dog but rooms were excellent (beds needed a topper) and great service throughout. Location is a little out of town but enough good places for dinner nearby and tram into Edinburgh was easy. Very dog friendly, nice bar. Staff lovely and decent rates.

We had a wonderful few days at the Malmaison Edinburgh port. All the staff were wonderful. In particular Hamah and Marino who looked after us for breakfast and dinner. We had friends with mobility issues and they went the extra mile to ensure a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend this hotel for customer care and so close to the tram route.

We arrived later on the afternoon. Parked in carpark area behind hotel. Fairly easy to find using the sat nav provided (note:different one from actual hotel) Was not informed on booking that work/Scaffolding around hotel. 4th floor room right at the door to lift area.Large room with desk, chairs and looked like side view of road and with frosted glass. Location of room not ideal,but noted very quiet. On return from dinner plans, the bar was fairly busy with a few large groups.Out for dinner at local restuarant and out early so decided on breakfast basket/tray and left the requested choices on hanger and outside door before 2am as required. At requested time,no tray and had to call reception to chase (obviously not collected by night staff? ) quick response and delivered to room within 15mins of calling. Happy with service,despite no yoghurt and the wrong cereal. Positives.Nice room,friendly staff,location. Negatives:current work/Scaffolding outside. Ensure parking/alternative suggestion for customers.

We stayed at Mal Maison during our wedding celebrations. Khamile, on the events team was so helpful organising everything. Very good communication on the run up to the event. We were upgraded to a club, room which was very comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was lovely and clean. All the staff were really helpful and nothing too much trouble. Hannah was particularly helpful and always had a very welcoming smile in the morning. We got married in the city and had our wedding breakfast in the hotel. The front of house team were fantastic as was the food. We can't thank them enough. We will definitely return.

Set in the most picturesque and peaceful area of Leith Water. This hotel offers a gentle, peaceful and relaxing stay. Room was large with two extremely comfortable king size beds. Both room and hotel were spotless. Bathroom slightly dated, but very functional with rain head shower, good water pressure etc. Wonderful selection of cocktails and good menu variety for food. However, what makes Malmaison Leith stand out is its staff. Highly attentive and friendly. Everyone appeared to be happy and smiling. The manager was genuinely lovely to speak to. Bar staff, waiting staff, everyone was both professional and caring. My friend and I will have no hesitation staying here again. Additionally, lovely that they welcome dogs. First class stay and utterly relaxing.
