Malmaison Edinburgh

Absolutely beautiful hotel ,round the corner from the tram ,so easy to come and go .Great restaurant and bar food with gorgeous cocktails. Absolutely lovely staff ,from when we were booking in we met a lovely gentleman,we arrived very early morning but luckily our room was ready so we could freshen up and go explore ,we stayed in one of the suites and it was just as we hoped ,spacious room ,so comfortable and lovely details in the room .Lovely staff serving us in the restaurant the Thursday evening we arrived, I didn't catch her name but she was so lovely ,and we'd the lovely Hannah looking after us for breakfast every morning. From the art that adorns the hotel to the atmosphere The Malmaison was well worth it. We'd definitely come back .

The stay here was wonderful. 15 min tram ride into Edinburgh city centre. Hotel close to many pubs, bars and restaurants. Location nice and quiet. Room was huge and super comfortable and clean (we didn’t like the pillows but that would be the only negative - perhaps bring your own from home) if you choose not to have house keeping you get £7.50 each drinks voucher per night stay - this was a really cool incentive that I’ve not seen in any other hotel. The reception team were all helpful (I didn’t get all their names but Deep I believe was especially lovely.) the restaurant was great - the steak night is a MUST - best steak we have ever had. The team that evening; Olha, Kyte, Mariano were super attentive and friendly. A really attractive hotel - well recommended !!

This is the second time that my wife and I have stayed at Malmaison in Leith. The repeat visit did not - with one exception - disappoint. All that we liked about the hotel was still there - the shore front location, the nice furnishings, the comfy and clean rooms and the hospitable staff - were still present. This time we took advantage of the 50% discount Thursday steak night, and were glad that we did. The food was excellent, the steaks cooked as we requested, and our servers were friendly and efficient (unfortunately I did not get their names). BUT there was one disappointing factor in our trip. The water pressure in the room was woeful. Each morning that I had a shower in our second floor room, it was equally bad. I do not recall it being so bad previously. The bath appears to have been unaffected by this; it is hoped that it will be remedied next time we come back.

We upgraded to a suite however we weren’t informed that the construction was right outside our window with scaffolders working and being able to see straight in. The house also started early morning which was disruptive to a lazy morning lay in which we had planned.

I arrived alone and had the most lovely welcome from Gordon at reception. He was so lovely , took my luggage to my room and settled me in . When leaving he again helped me with luggage , looked up an optician for me as I was looking for glasses . Will definitely return again . Thank you Gordon

Good choice in bar and hotel is in easy reach of Edinburgh city centre and surrounding areas.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and had evening meal once. We found the pricing and meal offers very confusing. I opted for roast beef which appeared to be reheated lunch food, awful. The manager reduced our bill. On the plus side our breakfast waiter/ess Hanna was delightful and efficient .

Leith was a great location. Very nice hotel. Great beds, nice bathroom. Noisy people in corridor, but otherwise quiet.

We had a lovely dinner tonight 50% off steak on Thursday's the food was nothing short of excellent but what really made our night was Charlotte our server who couldn't have gone more out of her way to make sure we had the perfect meal

We had a meal in the restaurant this evening. Billie was so welcoming & knowledgeable & went to great lengths to ensure we had a good experience. She deserves a great review & we thoroughly recommend the restaurant.
