Sandcastle Hotel on the Beach

It was a great hotel right on the beach. I got the great view of the ocean and right in front of me there is the beach. Amazing in terms of location. But after spending time on the beach when we came back to hotel their cafe was closed around 8 PM. I believe that is too early they should have some other options to eat the food in the deck and enjoy the amazing wave sound. Great Experience overall.

Food should open until 9 PM on week days.

Gorgous view of the beach and ocean from our room and balcony. We left the door open all night so we could fall asleep listening to the waves. Otherwise it was very quiet and peaceful. Nice patio beach view firepit for guests to enjoy. Close to downtown, restaurants,shopping. Very clean, friendly, dog friendly, and comfortable!

Hotel parking was pricey considering the room itself was not cheap! Small recommendation: a mat or foot rinsing station at the doors and at the bottom of the stairs would reduce the sand tracked in.

It’s a beautiful property with a great location right on the beach. It’s perfect for beach days.

We got Room 101 and 102 and the rooms were fine standard size two double bedrooms but the beds had very sharp corners in Room 102. My hurt her leg several times on the corner of the bed and went home with bruises. The noise level from the hallway every night from guests and from maintenance workers coming to work in the morning was unacceptable. We could hear every conversation, loud laughing and yelling out. We were there for a Monday and Tuesday night. I can’t imagine how loud a weekend is. The balcony views of the ocean weren’t good at all from these rooms. We got a view of mostly the parking lot.

The room is spacious and nicely furnished. The view is great, even though the mosquito net obstructed it. The bathroom had great amenities.

I understand I had a bit of bad luck but I would not stay here again. The staff, while pleasant, was not trained. The check-in turned out to be at 4PM (my bad for not knowing that) so my room wasn't ready at 2:30PM when I came - disappointing but fair. I figured I'd just leave my bag at the reception desk and go to the beach. However, the reception desk employee got confused when I asked about them taking my bag until the room was ready, and said they don't have a space for keeping bags. Needless to say, when leaving the hotel, I asked a more senior employee to leave my bag for a few hours until my train, and of course they took it to the back and gave me a tag for it. Just an annoying start of the stay - I lugged my 15kg bag and backpack around town for no reason. More importantly, the room I was in had a door to the room next door. This door basically has no threshold so I could hear literally every word in the next room. Sure, it was mainly an issue because I went to sleep early, being jetlagged, but it's also extremely uncomfortable as you have no privacy. I'm not talking about hearing loud TV, I'm talking about hearing the mom shush her daughter in a quiet voice in the other room. Never have I been more uncomfortable in a room. Slept with headphones the entire night.

Love this hotel prefer to stay here over anywhere however this time the bed didn’t feel the same and our oceanfront room was on the 2nd floor which had no top cover or shade which did mess with being able to sit outside during the day to enjoy the view.

Great location and well maintained.

Did not like the high daily parking fees.

It steps away from the beach. The room were clean & spacious. The staff were accommodating.
