Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre by IHG

I just think it's not very quiet. You can hear people in other rooms.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre this past weekend with my partner for one night. Overall, the hotel was fairly clean and check-in was straightforward and efficient, which we appreciated after a long day of travel. The location is also excellent—very central and convenient for exploring the city. However, we were disappointed by the lack of air-conditioning in the room. This was not communicated to us either during check-in or beforehand via email. A fan was offered, but this was not a sufficient substitute, and although there was mention of a complimentary bottle of water to help with the heat, this never arrived. Thankfully, the weather was not as hot as it has been recently, otherwise we would have found the room extremely uncomfortable. As it was, we just about managed, but had we known in advance, we would likely have booked elsewhere. In summary, the stay was adequate for one night and the location is great, but the lack of transparency around room amenities—particularly something as essential as air-conditioning—is a let-down and something to be aware of before booking.

I have stayed at this hotel many times, it is generally very good, but the air conditioning was not working, and apparently had not been for 2 weeks or so. This was not pointed out when checking in. A fan was supplied but the room was so hot. Nearly impossible to sleep

Very basic - everything you need , no frills. Staff polite but all looked a bit fed up. Bathroom was very dated . It feels secure, was quiet and a great central location. It was pricey for what you get , probably due to the location

8th floor was like a sauna, air con doesn't work and just provided with a portable fan. Bathroom has zero air ventilation was like showering in a steam room. 1 lift broken down so whole hotel working off 1 lift with no signs on any floor but the ground, so people pressing the button and then giving up and walking off but meaning the lift still stops on each floor.

Helpful and friendly staff, quick check-in and stored bags for us due to early arrival.

Beds a bit small but other than that, nice sized room, very clean. Gave us some drinks tokens which was nice.

Lovely breakfast but the shower took ages to warm up

Everything - from the time I checked in to the time I checked out was great! I will definitely be back!
