Marine North Berwick

Absolutely stunning views. Beautiful location. Lovely foyer. Rooms were nice. Mostly though - the staff were unbelievably friendly and down to earth. Not forced - very natural and helpful welcoming and chatty.

We found the facilities to mostly be great (though the bathroom was tiny) and the reception staff to be very helpful . However, in other areas the service was lacking. On our first visit to the spa, no one explained where anything was (towels, water etc) or how the thermal experience worked. Also, when it came to dining, we were repeatedly forgotten about. The worst of this was when we had to wait 40 minutes for the cooked portion of our breakfast (just some eggs), and during that time no one came to check on us, and we had to get up and ask if it would be much longer. This really put a dampener on what I’d expected to be a wonderful stay.

Just back from lunch at Marine Hotel and we were so impressed. We ate in the bar, which has great views over golf course and the sea. The mussels were some of the best we've ever had (and we live at the coast ....). Some great wines too and we found it good value. We'll return.

Friendly helpful staff. Nice location.

It felt a little tired and in need of a bit of attention. An example was the large window(s) needed replacing in reception area which spoiled the lovely view. This seems trivial but I would make it a priority as it’s such a beautiful location.

Great location and rooms. Restaurant is good. Friendly staff.

Can’t fault it. Works well for a family with two small kids.

I have just spent a wonderful Easter break at the Marine Hotel in North Berwick. I absolutely love North Berwick, and stay at the Marine Hotel regularly. Gina and her team were so attentive and made my stay incredibly special. My little Jack Russell Brambles loves staying at the Marine too and was thoroughly spoilt by Gina and her team 🥰 Thank you for all you do. It is so much appreciated 👏 We are thoroughly looking forward to our next visit 😀
