The location is good, the outside of the property is pretty, and the staff were friendly and polite

Bedrooms 1 & 2 are in the roof with very low ceilings (staff call them "cramped"), with a beam at the 180cm mark, but there are no warning signs. This beam goes across the bath and I (an average height man) banged my head several times while showering. There was also no proper grab rail, and no anti-slip shower mat, so I felt unsafe when showing. There is a large fire alarm on the bedroom ceiling, with an annoying green light that stopped me from sleeping. The English breakfast was poor, with tiny cups of coffee and only one slice of toast.

The room needed a thorough dusting. After closing time the area was still quite noisy. Despite giving my registration number to the check in staff, I have now received a £100 parking charge.

Location was ok for what I needed. Car park was close to the room.

The room was small and unclean. Particularly the kettle, which had more limescale than I have ever seen in my life. It was an inch thick, chipped away in places and moving around in the kettle. I was nearly sick when I saw it. The service was appalling, you have to check-in at the pub - not the end of the world - but it took 20 minutes to get served and another 15 for them to realise they needed a manager to process the booking. Said manager came downstairs, gave me a look of disgust for disrupting whatever she was doing by daring to want to check in, didn’t say a word to me, processed the booking and then handed the key to a member of staff who was clearly embarrassed by the situation to hand to me. I had a business meeting close to the hotel, decided to stay to allow myself to sleep well and not need to get up early. Struggled to sleep due to the proximity to the railway level crossing, which has an alarm and the train noise - plus the noise from the pub. Then I was woken at 7 am by the beer delivery, who parked his truck outside of the four rooms, clattered the beer around and had an argument with the same manager who was rude to me about where he was putting the beer. There was a lot of other places he could have parked.

Good location & comfortable

The fire safety was lit up at night which was quite interruptive of sleep.
