Sundial Beach Resort & Spa

We came to sanibel to stay for the first time and were very happy with our stay at the newly rebuilt sundial resort. The room was beautiful and spacious

We rented a 3 bedroom which was very small and somewhat depressing. Furniture was pretty ugly and old fashion. The room was very dark considering we rented the most expensive room and was ocean front. We were under the impression that it was going to have a washer/dryer but only once we were there we were told not all units have washer/dyers and none were available at the time . We would not have stayed at this property if we had known that there was no washer/dryer. There was a laundry room on the third floor which was inconvenient. When we called to complain, we were informed that there were no other rooms that we could be moved to because the resort was fully booked. It did not appear to be fully booked. We left a message for the manager to call but he never did. In addition, it took two days to get additional towels and suppplies . I was told that the resort does not fully disclose this information unless you ask very specific questions. Not a way to run a resort. The pool area was very nice and my grandchildren had a great time with all the activities available to them. Not a place I would return to.

My wife and I had a great time. All the resort staff are super friendly and try their best to accommodate your needs. The resort makeover after Hurricane Ian is outstanding. All the facilities and amenities are better than they were before. We will definitely return for future visits to the Sundial.

The sundial is a very nice resort with a great location. The staff from check-in to checkout were great. We enjoyed the restaurants, shops, beach and poolside activities. Our condo was very nice and clean and all the staff were wonderful from check-in to checkout.

Took forever to check in with only one person working the front desk. Also took forever to get our food the two dinners we ate on property. The staff was great but seemed to be understaffed. Room service coming to clean our room at 5:30pm was also a disappointment. The flooring and shower were updated but everything else, including the double size bed with a bad mattress was 1990s time share. Not what you would expect from a place at this price point.

We had a lovely ocean view condo with easy access to the beach. Loved walking the beach and relaxing on a chair with umbrella on the beach. Fun tiki hut for a cold beverage.

Everything was great for a 2 night girls trip - my only request would be to include the type of coffee maker in the description and that the freezer doesn’t have a water connection to make ice (housekeeping supplied us with a bag). Clean, bright, and plenty of room with a wonderful view of the Gulf of Mexico.

AWESOME staff and facilities!

Sundial Resort is simply a 2 Star hotel with a great location. Rooms are OK but not worthy of the premium price. Management thinks they are giving you a JW Mariott experience but it is hardly that. Food is passable as standard hotel fare, and bar service is questionable to spotty. Best thing about it are the access to the best pickleball on the Island. The hotel has none of the local charm you expect on Sanibel.

I’ll start with the positives! Great location. Very clean! We rented the 3 bedroom 2 bath condo for 3 couples for Valentine’s weekend. Our condo was clean but had a very noisy AC unit in the primary bedroom. We complained day 1 and it never got repaired (we were there 3 nights). I feel like it’s a great resort for families with young kids but not a romantic couples weekend. Steer clear of the restaurant by the pool! It took over an hour to get our food! And the food was fair at best! The pickleball courts were amazing! And Lexxe ran the 9-11am open play incredibly! It was organized and she was super nice! My kids are all adults so we probably wouldn’t go back to Sundial but I think if you’re a young family it’s great!
