Castle Inn

we loved the vibe of the pub as soon as we entered for lunch. we were made to feel so welcome. the food was superb. the room was so comfy and best part was our dog was catered for as well. The pub supplied her with a ball, poo bags and biscuits and use of a food bowl.... very considerate of them. We had dinner also at the pub and that was lovely. breakfast was probably the best full english ( devon) we have had on our travels. In all a real gem and we will be coming back for the pub and the beautiful walks.

Gorgeous location and friendly staff,

The Inn desperately needs a refurbishment. All public rooms (including my room) are dark, tired and outdated. Would look fabulous refurbished with brighter colours.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The ambience was also brilliant, with a lot of thought going into everything.

The staff who upgraded us was lovely and very caring about the situation.

Mould all over the bathroom in the first room we stayed in. Bed was pretty uncomfortable too.

A fabulous and friendly place. Roaring log fires, great menu, super friendly staff, nice bedrooms. Can’t recommend highly enough. 5 star experience. Thank you.

Everything! This is somewhere we return to. Love the old bar area. The whole place has kept its old charm but still feels to have a touch of luxury. A strong pull is the fact that it’s so dog friendly. Food excellent, including breakfast, staff are friendly and all in all hard to fault.

If being picky, some of the rooms are a little noisy in the evening but can be expected being in a pub. Even in the cottage accommodation you can hear people above walking around but accept this is the age of the build.

My original hotel had to cancel due to a fire and I'm glad they did. The team and particularly Alex were great and so welcoming, the room was lovely and you're food exceptional, we will certainly be back.

Nothing i didn't like at all. Car park could do with having the surface levelled and the potholes removed but appreciate we've had a lot of rain and it's a natural surface.
