"Ok but not great"

6.0

Ok but very overpriced for service levels - more than 30 min wait to pick up bags -lots of rules everywhere - wristbands for pools, no drinks in pools even with lids and plastics -pool closed because a kid contaminated it -no quiet / adult areas - even in the bar and no dedicated pool area -lock pool gate at night, which is fine, except it closes off walking path to dvc tower so you have to walk around your tush to get to your elbow

"Nice hotel but food options challenging"

8.0

We loved our stay here. The hotel is a very good standard and the room we had (premium downtown Disney view) was very spacious and clean . It had two queen beds and a sofa bed that was perfect for our family of four. Food was a problem . You really have to book up the restaurants early/before you arrive here as they are all fully booked otherwise . Food on the parks is expensive and poor. If I came again I think I’d leave Disney in the evenings and find local restaurants off the resort. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

"Not as magical as we had hoped"

6.0

We did not love this hotel. Having been to WDW and stayed at 11 different hotels there we had something to compare it to. We ran into an issue at check in when no handicapped spaces were available because they had a huge chunk roped off making them inaccessible. Self park is $40/n and Valet is $70/n so that’s a big difference in price. We brought this up as we were checking in and asked what can be done. The initial response was “I don’t know, not sure we can do anything “. Accessibility parking is a legal requirement and they weren’t all full, many were not accessible. You can’t just remove handicap parking. It got sorted out but not before making us uncomfortable because we had to push it. It seemed to have set the tone for the entire trip. (It would have been handled very differently in WDW. I know this because we have run into parking issues in the past on occasion). Our room was spacious and did have a nice view. (Frontierland lower, 9th floor). The carpet throughout was a little ick, hopefully they will replace with a hard flooring. The headboards were cute and lit up with a firework design and played music with a button. There are limited food options here. The only quick service place has a small menu and it’s not kid friendly basics. The pool area was nice but not nearly enough chairs for the amount of people staying here. We attempted the pool one afternoon but after circling like vultures for 30-40 minutes we gave up. You walk by the pool to get anywhere and it was like this every day. That was a huge bummer, we never got to try the monologue slide. There was literally no where to leave our things. The friendliness of staff was mixed bag. (That was true for everywhere we went in DL area). We did enjoy a drink one night at the Broken Spell lounge. It was convenient to walk to both parks and the other hotels (we had breakfast at the Grand Californian twice). Heading into DD was often very slow because of security. They also have security in WDW and it’s never like this. The slowness just caused a huge backup and the security people were either not friendly or downright rude. We came here to celebrate some major milestones and this wasn’t the typical Disney magic vacation that we are used to. I do not think we will be back

"Loved our stay"

8.0

Currently staying 5 nights at the Disneyland Hotel Resort Villas and the experience has been lovely. We usually stay at the Grand Californian but thought we would try something different. While this hotel is further from the park entrance than the Grand you can hop on the monorail which takes you right into Disneyland Tomorrowland, or cut through the Grand to get to California. If you have little kids I highly recommend this hotel for the ambience and pool! Its fabulous! We also love the Villas and beds are super comfortable! Personally Im a fan of the California Grand for the chill relaxing vibes which are a must after a long day at the park but our 16 year old loves this hotel for the non stop Disney magic. Thats our favourite part of staying on property is you never leave the magic. The Palm Breeze Bar is also a nice play to have a little nightcap and we feel the dining options here are better than the Grand. We also did room service and the meal was the best we had all week! Disney is definitely not known for its good food so it was a joy to have a healthy reasonably priced breakfast (by Disney standards haha) You really cannot go wrong with this hotel or the Grand. All just depends on your preference. And for those who complain its a long walk from the park its literally at the end of Downtown Disney and a fun walk home with your family! Security lines also a-lot shorter than at the Grand too!

"Wonderful! Best stay!"

10.0

Love it here! Stay here Ruth your family, it’s worth the crazy cost. My kids love it and constantly ask to go back. The amenities are fabulous. Walking distance from the park is great. The pool is wonderful. Love the tiki bar and quick service food. I cannot wait to go back!

"Charming, warm welcome to Disneyland"

10.0

I had an excellent stay at the Disneyland Hotel for my first time at Disneyland. This hotel charmed me from the get-go: the parking attendants were warm, friendly, and helpful; I had no trouble figuring out where to park. The front desk attendant immediately waved me over when I entered the lobby and the gentleman helping me was fantastic; without asking he gave me physical room keys, a paper map of the hotel, paper maps of both parks, AND surprised me with a wearable button that said "First Visit"! I left my mom in the lobby for no more than 3 minutes and a cast member had already come over and made sure she wasn't lost or needed assistance. The hotel and the rooms are clean and full of thoughtful little touches that celebrate the history of Disneyland. Guests are provided bathroom amenities above the usual findings - even toothbrushes and toothpaste were provided! Getting to the park was easy and upon check-out, the front desk let me keep my room key as a souvenir. Every cast member had a smile, a friendly greeting, and many had little tips to make our stay easier. I loved every second of my stay at Disneyland and cannot wait to return. The Disneyland Resort in general has customer experience figured out.

"Worth the money when not in peak season"

10.0

Excellent service, comfortable and clean accommodations, awesome pool, close to Disney parks and other Anaheim attractions. Love the uniform theme throughout the hotel and rooms. Goofys kitchen downstairs had a great character buffet breakfast the kids (and adults) loved.

"Don't expect to feel special, no Disney Magic at this hotel."

6.0

Not what we expected from a top rate Disney hotel at all. We have stayed at many Disney hotels over the years but I suppose we had been spoilt by the Disneyland Hotel in Paris and expected the same quality. Don't be mistaken, it is not! Firstly as others have said, the hotel has serious maintenance issues currently. We were given a room in the building that had a serious pipe leak a couple of weeks ago. They were heating the corridors with extremely noisy fans and the lights were all flickering. We rang down to complain and the reception staff claimed they knew nothing. Well the Bell man delivered our luggage he said he couldn't believe they let us have the room and advised us to demand to be moved. We did thank goodness. The rooms are just.... hotel rooms and the whole hotel just doesn't feel special or themed. As I said, I think we had been spoilt in the past. I wish I had read other reviews as we assumed we were near to the park entrance. We didn't appreciate we would have to walk through the mayhem of Downtown Disney every time we wanted to go into the parks and that is a distance. Yes there is a monorail but only to Tomorrowland and the queues are long. We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was ridiculously priced, $65 for breakfast is crazy. We did have room service though which worked out far better and yes, those staff were amazing and friendly! In summary, stay elsewhere, there were super looking hotels over the road, don't waste your money.

"Do not recommend staying here. Security issues"

2.0

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This hotel has gone downhill in last years. We are a family of four with young kids. We just stayed there, and had a stranger open the door to our room, on two different occasions (7:30 am and 3pm), while we were in the room. When we reported it, the hotel said it was security, but no one knocked, nor identified themselves as security. My husband tried to go after the person and they disappeared down the stairs. We believe it was an outside contractor as the hotel had a pipe burst, and unfortunately were given a room in the area that is being restored from the water leak. There are contractors everywhere. The halls have no A/c, it feels like a sauna walking through the halls. The elevators are out of service as well. You have to walk to other end of hotel to use the elevator. When we called to report the security breach, we were given to Jasmine, and she said they would look into who kept entering the room but we never heard back. We did not feel safe during our stay. This issue was serious and management kept dismissing it. Overall, The staff is not friendly, everyone seems burned out. The pool area was dirty and gross. The room Itself is old, and dated. During check out no one asked how are stay was. This hotel is missing the Disney touch. The only friendly person at the hotel was the man that brought our room service. He was great!

"Sewage smell and water issues"

6.0

Sewage leak and smell was bad. Loss of hot water. Zero water jugs to fill water bottles so you had to buy $6 bottles of water. Hotel said nothing they could do and sorry about the smell in rooms
