* Unacceptable room condition: This is the primary issue. The caving ceiling, water damage, stained and musty carpets, mildew/mold, peeling paint, dented mattress, dirty curtains, and the presence of a Brillo pad for pest control are all serious problems that should have been addressed before a guest was assigned to the room. * Poor customer service: Having to wait three hours for a room that was not "night ready" is a failure of basic hospitality. The manager's comment asking if the room should be assigned to another guest is shocking and demonstrates a serious lack of concern for guest well-being. * Lack of accountability: The manager's excuse that they had "just taken over" a hotel and "was just told to assign rooms without knowing the condition" is a poor response. It's the management's responsibility to ensure that rooms are in a livable and safe condition before they are rented out. * Security lapse: The fact that you were allowed to retrieve your luggage from the bellman's office without proof of ownership is a significant security concern. * Unresolved issues: The second room, while "a little better," still had notable issues like "dirty carpet and water damage smell," indicating a systemic problem with the hotel's cleanliness and maintenance.

"Decent Stay"

It was a decent hotel. Quiet, clean for the most part. Our bathroom had issues with the mirror and the towel hook. The valet in the garage tried to take our car before we got anything out and then said they'd have to charge us to get it out. Overall, a good hotel for the price and location.

"Poor "

The hotel, while sporting a cute and modern lobby, was a disaster. Itโ€™s not clean. The hallways were a mess and needed to be vacuumed. The mattressesโ€” super uncomfy. The sheets and blanket and pillows- not comfortable. The gymโ€” 1/5 treadmills worked and the water cooler was empty. Truly disappointed in our stay.

On the surface all appears positive - great location, attractive lobby, friendly staff - but that all belies a lower end experience. Rooms are small and dark. Shower water must be run 5-10 minutest to get hot, and sink water never gets hot. Housekeeping seems to always forget one basic thing, like toilet paper. Cupboard where mini frig should be is open and broken, frig placed elsewhere in room. On top of that , we had a fire alarm this morning due to construction on a higher floor. All guests (many in pajamas) had to exit via the stairs, wait outside for about half an hour, etc. There was no apology.
