Taj Campton Place

Beautiful location cannot beat that. We were hoping for warm service at meal times Rooms are decent. Amenities present at good for your stay. Parking plan ahead or use their valet service either works.

The Taj Campton is located in the heart of Union Square, with shopping and restaurants all around. Easy walk from BART, and many other areas of S.F. We stayed in a standard king room and appreciated the soft bedding, and tub with separate shower. Slippers and robes were a welcome touch, as was the in-room and also in-lobby coffee. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast each day. The staff were very welcoming, including Suzette, Sierra, John, as well as our bar server and breakfast servers - very friendly service overall by every member of the staff. We enjoyed the 7th floor gym, it was spacious, light and airy, just the right temperature. We would stay again.

Cold water in the sink didn’t have enough pressure. Water from the shower spill all around the bath tub making it wet. Room was a bit old with unclean windows for the union square view. The front desk and people were really nice and caring. Appreciate their hospitality. Breakfast was amazing and the servers there were also really good. Lift did malfunction quite a few times.

I had a wonderful time at your hotel and you guys made my Christmas and New Year fell more special. The room was wonderful and your customer service is excellent. Tuan and Gurushan were very helpful and professional. Soukaina was an absolute angel, and knew how to look after me. Very nice front desk team. I definitely will come back to your hotel next time I'll be in San Francisco.

Food service a bit understaffed.

Great location - right next to Union square. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The service was great both at the reception Restaurant + In-Room. We also really enjoyed the Indian food served at their in-house restaurant - Bombay Brassierie. Few areas of improvement - (a) Room decor is a bit dated for a Five star facility, especially compared to other similar choices (b) The parking situation at the Hotel is very congested. Valet service could be improved.

Booking was done through HRS. I had no idea how HRS works. Looks like HRS used booking.com. Gentleman who checked me in made me feel like I am lying that I had booked through Booking.com and not HRS. Instead of including breakfast (@$299/night) - the booking mentioned something confusing like breakfast $49. Super unhelpful - did not let me cancel even though HRS allows 24hrs cancellation as I wanted to move out given the treatment. Even Taj points were not provided for the stay First and last visit and attempt to support Taj businesses outside the country. What a fall for the Taj!

I thought my stay at Taj Campton was outstanding. The staff that I dealt with were professional, helpful and kind from the front desk, doorman, housekeeping to the restaurant staff. We were able to check out late as well as keep our bags in luggage storage. Also, the front desk had umbrellas we could borrow! The hotel was also in an excellent location right next to Union Square. In our room, which had a charming old world feel, there were some nice touches like bathrobes, vanity kit, toothbrush and toothpaste, and bottled water. The shower pressure was strong and water was hot. The only disappointment in the room was that the small mini-refrigerator wasn't working well and didn't seem to get cold. The housekeeping staff even prepares your room at night by turning down the bed. The exercise facility located outdoors on the rooftop terrace was covered and had a nice view to Union Square and the Christmas tree! The equipment was excellent in great condition and included a good variety of equipment like a upright bike, recumbent bike, treadmill, elliptical, stair climber and weightlifting and resistance equipment, balls, mats, etc. In addition, in the exercise room, there were small disposable ear phones if you forgot your own. The lobby had a little alcove off to the side where there was water available (all the time) and coffee or hot water and teabags and croissants in the morning. The Bombay Brasserie was absolutely beautifully decorated. I felt like I was stepping back into the 20s or something with "art deco" or "art nouveau" vibe. Food was delicious too and had an Indian flare on some of the menu items. Well worth the experience! I would definitely come back to the hotel as well as the restaurant! The hotel is a gem!
